Clean and spacious but a little disappointing
Hotel was spacious and very clean. My only issue is that it was being decorated which we didn’t know in advance and there was a paint smell. Unfortunately the smell of paint makes me very unwell and as such I would never have booked to stay there if I’d known ahead of time. This somewhat marred our stay, and as we had booked a show in town that night we really needed a bed somewhere. Rather disappointed that we weren’t told ahead of time. The breakfast was nice and definitely needed after a poor nights sleep with breathing affected by the decorating and being unwell with it.

A jewel of a place.
Stayed over for one night due to working in the area. The staff were amazing and so helpful. The room was lovely. Food and bar area was great . Amazing stay and very friendly people. Recommend this little jewel of a hotel.

Lovely cozy rooms. Ample amount of tea,coffe,milk in the rooms, needs more biscuits. Lovely comfortable beds and pillows, nice fluffy towels, could do with more shower gels in the room for 3 day stay. English breakfast was beautifully cooked, no grease, all freshly prepared. Location was great, as 5mins walk into town centre. Will be visiting again in the future.

Just to be clear my scoring system: 1/ Don't go, just don't. 2/ I can't recommend going 3/ I enjoyed it but probably won't go back 4/ I enjoyed it, would go back especially if invited 5/ I enjoyed it, would invite/recommend others there myself Nice little 'B&B' style hotel with clean and tidy rooms. Owner was very friendly and despite our 0400 leave (was up for a triathlon) left us the breakfast room key and access to the kitchen so we could get some much needed fuel on. Sadly can't review their cooked breakfast but given standards of everything else I'd imagine it's good. Judged against its price - £85 for a twin room - seems very reasonable!

Friendly and welcoming. Exceptional.
We had a wonderful stay. Paul and his team went out if their way to ensure that all our needs were met. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very comfortable (we stayed twice, on the first and last nights of the C2C cycle tour). The breakfasts were excellent too. We will definately be staying again.
