Gem of a B&B in Florence
Wonderful and quiet place to stay. Very welcoming. Breakfast served in a nearby cafe--superb baked goods of various sorts. Would definitely stay her again.

Great place to stay
Great place to stay when visiting Florence. It was easy to get around and there were shops and restaurants nearby. The owner, Marco was extremely helpful and the bedroom was safe, clean and comfortable. We also had the use of a kitchen area with plenty of crockery,pans and utensils. Very good value in this expensive city

Good location
Place is located right outside of the old city of Florence so very convenient walking distance from lots of places. Marco was very nice and helpful. Place needs a touch up, walls were a bit dirty and is a bit outdated but however I think is the priced the correct way. For some reason the picture I was provided for the apartment on hotels.com was not of the room I booked so that was a bit of a surprise for me.

Positives: - Reception was extremely friendly, gave us a map and showed everything around the city and what to visit and how long it takes. He was very welcoming and made you feel at home. - There were a lot of local restaurants around, and not overly noisy because it was away from the tourist area Negatives: - A fair walk to get to the main attractions, expect a 20 minute walk to the station. - Room itself was quite big, but the added loft where the bed sat on was a bit concerning. We are in reasonably fit condition however was sometimes a struggle to climb the stairs to the bed, and the whole structure wobble every time you moved. Seemed very dangerous, especially at night. Overall the B&B was reasonably priced, it served it purpose, but I’d pay a little bit more and get something closer to the main centre

Good location, unsafe bed
My wife felt uncomfortable with the stairs, they were too steep. So she slept downstairs. The bed downstairs wasn't supported properly at the sides and she fell out of it one night. If she sat on the edge of it, it would tip up.

Authentic and cozy hotel
Great location, a quiet and quaint area, 15 min walk to old town where the crowds are. Marco was very welcoming and as soon as we arrived he gave us suggestions for what to visit, where to eat and where the reasonable prices are. He also lent us an adaptor for Italian outlets, which was super useful! His food suggestions were wonderful, we ended up in several charming and authentic restaurants with barely any tourists, and delicious food. The room was spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable! There is also a well stocked supermarket nearby, and the bus stop is right outside the building. The patisserie that Marco gave us vouchers for was very cute and the pastries were fresh and very very good. I would definitely stay here again! p.s: I would recommend if going to Florence in the spring or summer to be equipped with a spray anti mosquitoes - there is no way to escape them.

We enjoyed our stay here and Marco was extremely helpful, we enjoyed staying on this side of town, only slightly out of the hussel and bussel and a very easy walk into town. The cafe where we ate breakfast each morning was beautiful and had amazing custard donuts!

Great place, Great price!
I loved the BB Porta San Frediano. I really enjoyed my stay here. Every appliance worked great. I was there when it was cold and rainy and the heater was amazing. The room is very spacious and has a couch and separate living room space. The BB is a little far from the town center, but I liked that it was away from the crowds. It was nice and quiet. And the reality is that it's not that far, I walked from the main train station to the BB with a heavy backpack. Marco is so friendly and helpful. He gave me and my friend a map of Florence and wrote out the bus routes and lines that we should take. He also gave us dinner recommendations. The breakfast coupons you receive are also a nice touch. The cafe across the street is great and their pastries are delicious! I highly recommend this place and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Marco for a wonderful stay in beautiful Florence!

Perfect base for exploration
Our room was comfortable, clean, and had everything that we needed for our stay, including a handy kitchenette, allowing us to make full use of the huge and delicious food market. Marco was a friendly host and the breakfast in the bar across the road was a delightful bonus. It was a 15 minute walk into the city centre, or 20 if you enjoy more of a stroll, with restaurants, bars and a great gelateria much closer. All in all we had a really good time here.

Be amongst the Italians and see the real Florence
We really enjoyed our stay here, as everyone says Marco is a top guy and recommends some great places to eat. The place is a 10 minute walk to the main tourist spots, but we didn't want to be amongst all that, so if was great to be surrounded by predominantly Italians. There is a big supermarket just round the corner which came in very handy, and it's also close to the bus stop to go to the best part of Florence in our opinion - the Piazza Michelangelo - I actually proposed to my girlfriend up there, that's how special it is!
