The Cowboy Cottage is the perfect getaway for couples that enjoy nature and the countryside. A gated entrance will lead you to the small community of houses that are visible from the Cowboy Cottage, but still far enough away to keep your space quiet, peaceful, and private. Explore the country setting full of nearby hiking trails or gaze upon the horse pasture with friendly horses that will come right up to the back patio for some gorgeous photo opportunities.
What do you love about this space?
Enjoy your coffee out on the fenced-in back patio while the horses come by to say good mornin'. Open the screened windows to let the country breeze flow throughout the house while enjoying afternoon views of rolling hills during lunch. Cozy up in the evening to enjoy dinner or smores over the firepit before letting the sounds of country woods serenade you to sleep.
This newer cottage features gorgeous wood flooring, a newly stained wooden porch and patio, and professionally-installed security cameras to ensure you always feel safe.
The kitchen space includes an oven, stove, fridge, microwave, washer, dryer, dishware, cookware, and a Keurig coffee maker with a stock of coffee pods. The Cowboy Cottage also includes firewood to use upon arrival.
Feel free to watch Netflix, Disney+, and other streaming services using your log-in on the smart TV.
What will guests have access to?
Guests have access to the entire home, grounds, and trails nearby. This is a brand-new setup with landscaping still being developed. If you get mud on your shoes, please take or wipe them off at the door.
A 5-minute walk away, Shoal Creek Nature Preserve allows visitors to explore 298 acres of fallow fields, mature upland hardwood stands, and scenic creek bottoms in Lauderdale County. Two hiking/biking trails totaling 4.3 miles give hikers views of Shoal Creek, Indiancamp Creek, Lawson Branch, and Jones Branch.
Though the horses do come close to the back patio, the pasture is closed to guests for the safety of the horses and the guests themselves. We know the horses are adorable, but we do ask that you do not feed or touch the horses.
Little things guests should know:
- Cowboy Cottage does allow food and grocery deliveries.
- Bikes to use on the trails are available to rent for your stay through the host for $25 each. Must bring your own helmet!
- Pets welcome for an additional $100 fee.
