This vacation home offers ocean views and a secret hideaway in the 'tower' - a spot that's just perfect for kids to play (or if a parent wants a private reading space!). From the living room's large picture windows, guests will have a view of the waves rolling in. The outdoor deck (where the private gas grill is stored) is an ideal place to enjoy the breeze and the fresh ocean air.

There is a path to the beach two blocks from the house! Once out on the sand, you can stroll along the 10-mile stretch of beach admiring the rolling waves. Walk along the beach for a few minutes to the Surfside Restaurant (one mile away by car) for some fish tacos or stuffed French toast. Wander the galleries or stop by the Waterfront Depot for their famous crab-crusted halibut (just over six miles by car). Seeking adventures while on vacation? Visit the Siuslaw River with your fishing gear six miles away, or head out to the ocean for some deep-sea fishing - there are charters that leave daily right from the coast at Florence and Coos Bay. A short 27 miles drive south is the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, where guests can observe the ATVs and dune buggies navigate the sand.

Hot Tub was empty?
We were so excited to get away and have a nice vacation, but there were issues at this place. The hot tub was empty. We were told it was out of service but the listing showed it as functional. The carpets were so dirty, I kept my shoes on. The cupboards needed wiped down. Some of the light bulbs needed replaced. The kitchen had no fan above the stove, and there were holes in some of the walls behind some of the doors. Not my favorite place.

The house was practical for our family of four and small dog. The TV in the main room had really bad reception and constantly turned to static which was frustrating trying to watch the Olympics. The view of the ocean would be nice but the windows were so dirty you couldn’t see it. Otherwise nice kitchen and bedrooms.

Great Beach house making memories
We had a great time the house is a short walk to Heceta beach and it was wonderful. The house is very clean and had everything ww needed except food. We went to the old town city hall parking lot and watched the beautiful fireworks display they put on for the 4th of July. The house is a little old and has some creaky stairs but that was all part of our vibe. Our family is old and a few of us have some creaking going on so we fit like a glove. Thanks for letting us make some great memories.

Terrific house fam loved every moment. Great view of the ocean. Hot tub was awesome as well. Kitchen was stocked and place was warm and cozy. Kids gave it a 10/10. Nobody could touch me in foosball though dad is the GOAT. All in all will be back soon

Cute Cozy House with Excellent Beach Access
My family stayed at this house over the Christmas 2023 holidays. When we arrived, we entered the door code from the welcome text. The house was super clean. All the beds were super comfortable and the bedroom Foosball table was fun to play. The king bed was especially good about motion isolation. Each bedroom had stacks of extra bedding which we found helpful. The temperature on the lower level is controlled by a thermostat in the kitchen. We were able to find a very comfortable temperature. The one bedroom with the Foosball table has it's own wall heater that's easy to use. The lower bathroom had lots of towels for showering. It also includes a washer, dryer, clothes hamper, and laundry detergent. From the pictures, we weren't sure if there was a toaster in the kitchen, but there's a pantry with lots of small kitchen appliances including a toaster and Keurig coffee machine. Upstairs, the beach view is amazing. There's a nice big dining table for family gathering. The downstairs bedroom TV has a firestick that was easy to use. The upstairs living room TV has an antenna for local channels. Overall, our stay was extremely comfortable. We would recommend this house to anyone wanting a cozy house with excellent beach access.

Beautiful Location!
My friends and I needed a location to escape too, and play D&D. This was it. The house is just as advertised! Within walking distance of the beach, and driving distance from Florence. Just be aware, you definitely do have neighbors here! The only thing i can say was wrong with the place, is that there were no oce trays in there. We thought of bringing our own pots and pans, as that has been necessary in the past. But the fact they didnt have an ice tray really sucked and we ended up having to buy a whole bag of ice and putting it in there. Otherwise, this place is awesome and we're already talking about doing it again next year!

Needs a little TLC but a good place to stay
First off, there are a lot of reviews about this place being musty.... it's a beach house. That's par for the course. There is black mold on the ceiling but I'm not sure how they're going to get to that. I would recommend packing allergy medication if you're sensitive to it. This house lacks a lot of the owner managed touches you'll see in other vacation rentals, such as local recommendations booklets, home manuals,any directions really. The trash was completely full when we arrived which was incredibly frustrating for an almost weeklong stay for a family of 7. The foosball table is broken, i would recommend removing so you don’t have heartbroken kids continuously. There were plenty of spare blankets, but comforter spares were ripped - maybe from pets? Some outlets were broken, crayons on some walls,knives were completely dull and useless, and you'll gind yourself going to the store continuously for basic household supplies. I don't anticipate the rental agency fixing these issues because you can see this has been a theme of complaints for years. We bought a bunch of buckets for clammers and crabbers, steel wool, and some other necessities - we'll see if they end up remaining at the house for other families. It has alwayd seemed to be an unspoken rental rule we just leave a bit for the next family to enjoy. This house looked stripped. The king bed was also broken. Again, this has been a continuous complaint by users. Now the good - location and plenty of room for fam

Beautiful house great location. the cleanliness is not on point unfortunately. I say the house is musty and dusty didn’t bother most of my family however those with allergies and asthma were suffering. The hot water heater was leaking and the maintenance came out and had the water heater replaced within an hour that was pretty impressive.

Don't get what you pay for. House needs work.
Advertised as sanitized, night stand in master was sticky where a drink was. Mold in shower. Heater in game room didn't work. Window sill in master was spongy. Lower level smelled very musty. Talked with property management about issues and sent email with photos. Have been ghosted since. Extremely disappointed. Lots of fees as well. I spent less for the same time during a holiday at the Disney resort in Hawaii.

We couldn't have asked for better. Quiet neighborhood, close beach access (short walk), clean house and nearly everything is there; strangely no bowls and would have liked binoculars. The hot tub wa great after all the beach walking.

All the descriptions listed were completely accurate, the house looks like a tiny lighthouse. All amenities were spot on, the hot tub was lovely after a long day at the beach. The beds were soft and warm. This was a ladies only trip but we are looking forward to bringing out families back. Our kiddos would adore the reading nook with panoramic views :)

My family and I stayed here and it was amazing! You can see the ocean waves from the living room window! Its actuall a 3 bedroom which was a great surprise. There was some small stains on the carpets but other than that, the house was perfect for us. We will definitely come back in the future!

Great Vacation Rental in Florence
We had a great stay at the Sandy Spur for our one year wedding anniversary. This house was centrally located and lived how close it was to the beach. The hot tub was a really nice addition and we loved coming back in the evenings to relax. We were bummed the fireplace didn't work but overall this place had what we needed for a great getaway.

Enjoyable spring break stay.
I stayed here for spring break with my 2 girls (ages 10 and 4). It was perfect for the 3 of us. Short walk to a beautiful and not crowded beach. Unfortunantly the hot tub was cold when we got there and had a lot of pine needles in it but by the next morning it was hot and we just scooped out the pine needles. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. As a mom traveling with kids I really appreciated all the games and books they had. The 'nest' as my kids called it was a favorite part of the house (little loft area). The beds were nice and comfortable except for the mattress on the bottom bunk, it was really thin and you could feel the bars through it. Overall we were very happy with our stay and are already planning our trip back for this summer.

This rental was perfect for a family trip. It would have been really nice to have a TV in the bedroom at night, and I was a little sad the fireplace didn't work, but that is really my only complaint. The beach is a short walk from the house, in an area that doesn't appear to be too crowded. My kids absolutely loved the loft, which they called their, "Tree fort." The covered hot tub was perfect for my kids to get in some swimming and for me to relax after a busy day. I also really enjoyed the game room, where my kids were able to hangout with a TV and foosball table, while I enjoyed my coffee with an ocean view from the living room upstairs. I definitely would come back!
