Funky, stylish, modern hotel. We enjoyed the overall vibe and the little bar in the lobby (and had a nightcap there a few times). The room was clean, modern, and attractive. We would have liked having a fridge and an electric kettle, but the staff was happy to provide ice on request and there is hot water (and free tea/instant coffee) in the "galleys" on some floors. (Staff was very fluent in English, FYI.) Very nice bathroom, we really appreciated the towel warmer and the excellent shower. Location was pretty good--some nice places to eat nearby. But as of November 2024, there was a lot of construction in the neighboring park and the road next to the hotel, making it a bit unpleasant to walk around there. Not the hotel's fault but something for guests to be aware of.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was warm, stylish, and inviting—a perfect mix of modern comfort with a touch of Florentine charm. The staff at Ruby Bea truly went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. A special shout-out to Marta and Ida at the reception-bar, who greeted me with such genuine warmth and professionalism. They answered all my questions about the area and offered fantastic recommendations that made my trip even more memorable. Their friendly demeanor made me feel right at home. Diego was also a gem, helping me set up the Marshall speaker in my room so I could play my music effortlessly. His patience and expertise turned a simple setup into a delightful experience that enhanced my stay. Property was modern and sleek but as soon as we arrived there was an unpleasant smell pervading - possibly due to building/road works happening right outside. These works meant that navigating the immediate area was a bit of a nuisance and the overall location wasn’t the best. There were some nice places to eat nearby but we felt a bit out of the way and had a good 20 minute walk to get to the centre of town each day, there and back. Location will be better once the tram lines have been installed and the transport is easier. The room was nice - clean, modern and minimalist. We had a balcony, which was nice and unexpected. The hotel’s philosophy of ‘lean luxury’ is admirable but felt a bit like ‘do it yourself and don’t bother us’. This put us off staying there again.

Just seems like the hotel is trying to cheap out on quite a few things, like getting you to feel guilty about them cleaning your room and opting out for 1 free drink. Also the LAST THING you want after a long day of travelling is having to check in yourself it just seems a bit lazy and not what you’d expect from any hotel let alone a 4 star hotel. Also rooms are just a bit bare. I know it’s a semi budget Hotel but I would at least expect somewhere a bit better to hang clothes and maybe a fridge. Also it seems like the shower was an afterthought in this room after everything had been done. It was clean but definitely not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Location is average everything is walkable distance however I’d say be as close to the river as you can.
