Been staying at this hotel for years. It's time for some upgrades in floors in rooms and ceilings. Can still have the cowboy look but a bit upgrade. And offer a safe. Southerners carry weapons

Get a long lil doggie
If you want to have the cowboy experience and the feel for an old western town this is the place to stay. Cattle and horses in the streets and what feels like saloons filled with cowboys dot the street. We were on the street side of the hotel, great view to the action but noisy. I suggest you ask for a room off the path if you’re looking for quiet. Had dinner in the bar and it was delicious. Great service too.

I always wanted to stay at this hotel but couldn't afford it. Compared to the other hotels in the stockyards, the price wasn't so bad when you consider what you pay to park in the area. This place is amazing. We will definitely stay here again and again.

Oh my gosh!!! This is my favorite hotel in TX! From the bellhop who had so much info for us (AND pulled our car in closer to the curb), to the front desk staff, to the restaurant (AMAZING steaks). The mattress was great--best sleep of the trip a d also the best shower of the trip! The decor is beautiful also. If you have the chance to stay...do it! PS - cant get much closer to the daily cattle drive!
