Accommodation In Foshan

What does the word Guangdong mean to you? Probably nothing right now, but it will soon, because it’s the home province of your next holiday city. Bruce Lee’s ancestors are from here—that alone should be enough reason to visit. Check out our great deals for Foshan hotels, book one and become a Jeet Kun Do student in no time.

Things to Do in Foshan

The first place you should visit on Foshan holidays is the Foshan Ancestral Temple. It’s a Daoist temple that was first built during the Song Dynasty, ruined during the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt by the Ming Dynasty. As you pass through the Main Hall, Wanfu Terrace, the Qingzheng Pavilion and the Front Hall, you’ll notice statues of past martial arts masters. Sure, they could probably open up a serious can of you-know-what, but not as big of one as Bruce Lee.

Speaking of the Jeet Kun Do master himself, check out the city park that bears his name. He’s pretty important around these parts. You’ll understand why when you come upon the enormous statue of Bruce in full combat stance. When you’re done walking around the park, join a kung fu class and learn the way of the dragon.

Getting to & Around Foshan

Grab a taxi outside the main terminal and make the hour-long drive to your Foshan accommodation. Once in the city, there’s a great subway system that connects you to all of the districts as well as the rest of Guangdong Province. Oh, there’s also over 360 bus lines ready to take you from here to there at a moment’s notice. And don’t forget about the great rail system that has daily trains to Hong Kong in case the big city comes calling. Most Hong Kong accommodation is close to a train station.
