Our cottage is a fully self sufficient space sleeping up to four across two queen bedrooms with a kitchen, lounge, dining and bathroom. It is located on a rural property in Yorke Peninsula where you can get a taste of the country lifestyle. In the cooler months you’ll have an open fire indoors and an outdoor firepit to cosy up around. In the warmer months some of South Australia’s most picturesque beaches are a short drive away. All year round you’ll be able to spot local kangaroos and bird life right outside.
This cottage was built by a local stone mason in 1999 with our families vision of providing guests with unique accommodation that is accessible for anyone looking to enjoy the finer indulgences of country life. The cottage is designed to be completely wheelchair accessible and where possible we are more than happy to make adjustments for guests that need it.
Wilde Retreat Cottage is near the southern coast of the peninsula where many beaches, rock pools, fishing spots and cliffs can be explored. Just a 40 minute drive to the popular Marion Bay and into Innes National Park. 15 minute drive to Warooka for the nearest shops, and 20 minutes drive to Point Turton if you fancy a bit of Jetty fishing and picturesque Flaherty’s Beach.
Other things to note:
Phone reception is very limited- you are essentially off grid. You will need to drive on dirt roads to access it.
A Wilde Cottage does not have wifi or TV it’s a blissful space to unwind and disconnect. Play a boardgame, read a book and reconnect with those closest to you over a glass of wine or a warming coffee.
Fire wood: we only supply a limited amount of fire wood per booking. Please bring additional if you wish to have multiple fires.
We host another accommodation option ‘Wilde Retreat Farmhouse’ on the property. Your driveway goes behind the Farmhouse, we ask you move quickly to your cottage and respect the other guests privacy. The two homes are not visible to each other and have their own boundaries to explore- outlined in our guest agreement
