Our New Favorite
This is by far the best VRBO stay my husband and I have ever experienced. The hosts, Mike & Sam, went above and beyond and even greeted us upon our arrival to see if we had any questions. The cabin is beautiful, well-maintained, and nestled alongside a serene creek. When we walked into cabin, there was a handwritten note, brownies, and a bottle of wine. The property was fully equipped with anything we could have needed or wanted for our stay, and immaculately clean. 10/10. The property is desirably located between Franklin and Highlands, and is nearby to numerous hiking spots, grocery stores, etc. We will be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Mike and Sam are truly genuine good people. They go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We loved everything about this property. It is so peaceful and secluded. The mountain views are gorgeous! The grounds are immaculate. Inside the home there is quality everywhere; the furnishings in the home and even the porch, the art, the towels, sheets and even the rugs!! The attention to detail is everywhere you look. The owners of this property have made it such an amazing place. This was our second stay at the property and for good reason. The house is always clean, neat, and feels like home. Beautiful cottage in lovely mountain setting
The Guest House is a gem. It is so cozy, clean, well stocked kitchen, and beautifully decorated. It’s hard to leave the front porch. Sam, Mike and Tucker are wonderful hosts. Thank you for the delicious blueberry muffins and wine. Look forward to returning in the spring!

Perfection!
I stayed 4 nights with my parents and my dog. We had a wonderful time. The house is cozy and the property is amazing. We had everything we needed. It’s close to town and to visiting other towns like Highlands and Cashiers. We really enjoyed meeting Sam, Mike and of course Tucker. Hope to visit again next year!

Slice of Mountain Heaven
The quintessential mountain cottage! This quaint cottage sits on it's own little slice of mountain heaven. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. From relaxing on the front porch to the sounds of the stream, watching the deer and turkey, and visits from our friend Tucker, we had a very relaxing getaway. The cottage is appointed very well, decorated perfectly, and was immaculate. Our campfire was even set up for us when we arrived! We so enjoyed getting to know Sam and Mike over cocktails and great conversation! Thank you so much for making our stay a very wonderful experience and for being wonderful human beings. Ready To Come Back Already!
5-star reviews is not enough to express how amazing this "guest house" is! From booking through departure, our communication was proactive and responsive. Sam and Mike are fabulous and made sure the house was immaculate, ready for us ahead of schedule, and all the added special touches made it feel immediately like home. The house is cozy and private, quiet and serene, and we enjoyed every minute we spent there and during our time exploring Franklin. Tucker was as charming as described and got along just fine with our pup, Charlie. I cannot express how relaxed we felt on this gorgeous property. Mornings with coffee were greeted with a family of deer two mornings, and night with nightcaps ended the evenings next to the fire pit. We cannot wait to return! Thank you, Sam, Mike and Tucker!!!

Beautiful cabin
What a beautiful cabin in a peaceful area with great mountain views. We loved sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs. We loved how the cabin is decorated and the Christmas lights were beautiful! It's so quiet that you can hear the little creek running beside the cabin. Sam and Mike were so kind and nice. They even left bottled water in the refrigerator and a bottle of wine and homemade blueberry pound cake for us, which was amazing! We loved visits from their dog Tucker. What a sweet dog! Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend this property. We would definitely stay again.

Quiet and beautiful property! The house was in a pretty good location in order to access the main areas of Franklin and Highlands. It was nice to meet Mike- he was very friendly. The homemade pound cake and bottle of red wine were very much appreciated! My pup also loved staying, so thank you so much for allowing dogs. Hope to visit again soon!

Loved the Guest House
When the “mountains are calling” and you must go, the “Guest House” is the place. The owners, Mike and Sam, have created a little piece of heaven in GOD’s country. The cabin is warm and inviting. We hung our hammocks by the fire pit and enjoyed a landscape painted by fall foliage. Mike and Sam knew all the hotspots to visit and told us how to get there. If you are looking for peace and quiet the “Guest House” is your choice for the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. The only thing better than going to the “Guest House” is going back again.

Delightful Stay at The Guest House
Our stay at “The Guest House” was delightful. Living in an Atlanta suburb, we were looking for serenity, a comfortable and quiet environment…...The Guest House provided it all! Nestled at the end of a paved road, traffic was negligible. When we arrived, the house was clean and nicely decorated to give it a mountain cabin feel. We enjoyed hours of peaceful reading on the front porch while taking in the mountain and wooded views. Our pet Murphy really enjoyed the open areas around the cabin as well as the occasional visit from “Tucker” - the owners Labradoodle. Our hosts, Sam & Mike, who live on property, were responsive, friendly and showed great hospitality but were not intrusive. Close proximity to Franklin & Highlands NC offered some good dining opportunities. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the quest house if you are looking for a peaceful vacation.

Perfect setting
In one word, “excellent!” The hosts, Sam and Mike were gracious and informative. The property and cabin is well maintained. We brought our 9 month old Shihpoo puppy and he loved playing with Tucker their goldendoodle in the manicured acres of lawn. In the early morning and late evening many deer strolled through the property. 15 minutes to downtown Franklin and 35 minutes to downtown Highlands and many waterfalls. A very enjoyable stay.

Exactly what we we were hoping for!
We were looking for a retreat with an open space, cool evenings and pleasant summer days for ourselves and especially for our female black Labrador retriever who suffers from the humidity and heat of our hometown. Suffice it to say that Sam and Mike’s cottage was exactly what we were hoping for during our 8 night stay. The accommodations were clean, organized and had the best front porch ever for a latte or glass of wine. Mike and Sam are terrific hosts too and always accessible if something came up. The large grass lawn and field were perfect for our “Pepper” to roll and retrieve on. It was quite funny to observe her forlorn look as we picked up her water and food dish as we prepared to leave. We will definitely be back!
