The entire hotel is so out of date, paint was peeling from the bathroom walls and ceiling, the sheets had stains on them, and the elevator was out so we had a very inconvenient walk up which was a real challenge for my traveling companion who is 72 with multiple sclerosis. I was so happy to leave this place. The only redeeming factor was the lady behind the counter who checked us in, she was delightful.

Very disappointed to not have been notified ahead of time that the elevator is - and I understand has not been for a few weeks - not working. Grateful that someone was available to assist with luggage, the stairway, while beautiful, is challenging for those with mobility issues.

Very charming lodge, the rooms were clean. We had a great view. Enjoyed the pool. Unfortunately their elevator was out of service so we diffidently got our steps in. While we were checking in the lady helping us was lovely and in the middle of booking our dinner reservation a fellow co worker rudely interrupted her told us we could make our own because the lady helping us had to take call. Left us feeling rushed. Not very professional

Quick and professional check in. Meal in the restaurant was very good and the grounds around the hotel are great. Only downside to our stay was that you could hear everything from the next room where, via connecting door, a different party was staying.

This property has the potential to be an exceptional resort - the renovations underway are building that capacity. Staff were over the top helpful and friendly. We had dinner and a light bfast in the restaurant & both were excellent. We came for digby scallops and we ate them in every dish (except dessert- tho we contemplated it!) I can’t wait to come back and see how the renovations progress.

Staff work hard to keep this hotel running. The grounds and pool are lovely. Restaurant served the best seafood chowder I had during my 2 week stay in Nova Scotia. No complaints but I Wish I could have opened my window.

Would not stay again. Way overpriced for a smelly, old room. The first room smelled of urine, they moved us. Slightly improved. Did not smell. But, very small rooms. Could not get a comfortable room temperature. Elevators were out. Had to climb stairs with multiple bags of luggage, then back down to another room. Breakfast should have been included in the cost. Again overpriced and unremarkable. Ordered eggs over-medium and got "hard-boiled", Mushrooms were salty. toast was barely toasted and cold. The orange juice was good, the waitress was pleasant.

The outdoor pool was a unique experience. The dining room was excellent. The grounds were very beautiful and well kept. Our bathroom was dated and the toilet needed to be replaced.
