The pool was not clean, decided not to use it. Whirlpool tub water only warm. Bathroom was very small. only one small packet of pepper in the breakfast area.

Great room, not walkable to Main Street
We had a great stay, when I first booked the room I thought it would be with in walking distance to Main Street but there isn’t actually a sidewalk towards that area. Nonetheless the drive was only about five minutes and very easy to get back and fourth. Most of the rooms have a balcony so that was great to get some fresh air. The guy that checked us in was very friendly. For solo travelers, the room was very secure and had an extra door chain for safety ☺️. Over all I would definitely recommend this place.

Great stay in Galena! About 3 mins to downtown! Walking distance to Grant’s house. Staff extremely polite and fun! Hot tub, pool, & breakfast were great! Will stay here again.

This is a typical Best Western - great staff, wonderful self serve breakfast, comfortable room. Just what one comes to expect. This is an older BW - no elevator, but not a problem for us. The hot tub was more of a warm tub. Unfortunately the guests in the room below us were smokers who camped out on their patio and smoked for hours on end. We could not use our balcony or be outside due to the smoke. I am not sure what recourse the hotel has, but it continued after we brought it to the staff's attention as it is a NON-SMOKING property. This was the main reason I did not give higher ratings.

The staff was very nice however the food was okay . Also, we were not told to ask for new towels or to clean the room when we left for the day. There’s usually a sign you can put out to say DON’t make up the room, so we expected our room to be picked up when we returned after being out all day and fresh towels in the bathroom. Thank you.

Hidden gem
We were on the fence about booking a themed suite but are glad we did. The in room whirlpool tub and amazing walk in jetted shower were great amenities. The bed was comfortable and it was so relaxing to have a fireplace as well.

The lady at our check in was very nice. Bed not terribly comfortable. Would recommend bringing your own pillows if you can. Saturday morning breakfast was decent for a free breakfast, however the lady at the front desk was not nice. She appeared very irritated at anyone that walked through the door. Was short and rude when answering questions. Made a comment about having to push in chairs that the guests were worse than chlildren.

The pictures looked better than visiting in person. They need to put some work into this place. The lobby front desk area smelled like body order and had a must. We got to our room with a Hot tub and it smelled like mildew. Damp air… There was a big spider in the hot tub. I get that can happen but the big cobweb, full of dust, was in the ceiling corner for a while. I woke up and had trouble breathing which is not ordinary. I stayed outside for most of the morning because of it. They really need dehumidifiers in that building and rooms, especially with the hottubs. They’re surrounded by carpet and I’m guessing there is mold underneath the carpet because of it. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again and I really hope you take this review seriously and check into that room. It NEEDS dehumidifiers running in the place. Also, the chain was broken off the door so there wasn’t extra door security.
