About this property

Glamping in the Redwoods, with a hot tub!

Our small family farm invites you to camp in luxury under a canopy of redwoods. Located just 10 mins outside of Garberville in a redwood valley, we offer two glamping sites that have everything you need to enjoy nature in style. One of the sites is called The Orchard. You can drive your car right up to it. The other requires climbing stairs to the top of a hill. We call that one The Knoll. This page describes The Knoll. See my other listings to view more info on The Orchard site.

The Knoll site features a carpeted 13 foot round tent with a queen size bed with all linens, pillows blankets, as well as a couch, coffee table, and solar powered lights both inside and outside. It has a small outdoor kitchenette with a 1-burner stove, pots, pans, coffee, tea, and a 5-gallon water jug. Enjoy your meals on a large outdoor table. Plates, glasses and cutlery are provided. There is a cooler, a compost bin for your food scraps, porta-potty service and a hand washing station. The porta-potty is at the bottom of the stairs to the Knoll about 150 feet away.

For showering, we have built you a gorgeous spiral outdoor shower. Please use it before you relax under the stars in our 5 person hot tub!

Both tent sites are very private. You and the other campsite share an outdoor toilet and shower, as well as our hot tub. You are welcome to take walks on our property and to hang out by the creek. You can also arrange with us to get a tour of our farm!

About us: We are 4 adults who have lived on this land growing our own food and medicine for over 20 years. Our land is off-grid, but we have a robust solar and hydro energy system. We take great pride in stewarding this beautiful land and farm responsibly. We would love the opportunity to show it off to you. We are also happy to share our secrets on the best forest hikes, the best swimming holes, the best beaches, the best restaurants and anything else you would like to know about Humboldt. Welcome!

I wish I would of stayed longer
Great location. unfortunately I made this reservation last minute (and for one night) to give us a place to sleep while we were driving thru the redwood forest, on our way down the coast. I do recommend going during the day night time is very dark and could be tricky getting there. Host is great and was very commutive, nice and personal. place feel secluded and private. I would not mind going again and for longer.

a magical night under the stars
This truly is a magical place! We were able to be remote and connect with nature while still enjoying a hot tub and a real bed, it was fantastic. We spent the evening looking up at the stars (we saw a bunch of shooting stars!) and then after a great night's sleep we had breakfast and watched the wild turkey wander around before heading out for the rest of our adventure. Ana was a wonderful host. The drive to the property is along a gravel road that has a lot of ups and downs, so we were glad we were in an SUV with 4-wheel drive although I think you could probably do it in a sedan. I would come back in a heartbeat.

small details worth knowing
The dirt road from the main road to yurt is about 4 miles in is a steep dirt road, i would recommend not driving a small/low riding vehicle. The climb up the hill to the upper yurt was intense/taxing. The climb up is very steep and you have to go through two gates. Bringing any equipment/ice chest/food/baggage is a great task. The yurt and site were very nice and beautiful. Its very quiet and private. Negatives are no camp fires at site, bathroom down the steep hill, quite a few bugs. The outside/open air shower was great and the jacuzzi at night is must do.

Such a wonderful stay! Our hosts were the best with all of their wonderful recommendations. Everything they suggested really made this trip. Can’t say enough good things about our stay. Missing the peace of this place now that we are back to our day to day.

I cannot say enough great things about this property, what an amazing stay. You do have to enjoy camping, there are bugs and dirt and stuff. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating. My daughter and i were traveling on my motorcycle, and the private road in is a little rough for a motorcycle... Anna was fabulous and came out to the gate and drove us in so I could leave my motorcycle safely parked lol The glamp site is set up beautifully with everything you need, which is another reason it was a great choice for us being on a motorcycle. There's a kitchen already set up with all the basics. The solar shower and toilet facilities are perfectly clean. The hot tub under the giant trees is unbelievable, and we were even visited by deer at our tent and in the hot tub in the morning! There are two sites set up on the property, super private and away from each other tho. The only thing we ever heard, was the car when the other guest left Sunday morning. I did get a peek at the other site before we left, and it is equally set up perfectly. The property is just outside of town so super close for a store run. Located in a perfect spot for lots of sightseeing and Roadside Attraction stops during the day, and a skip away from the coast. Highly recommend! We plan on going back many time! And with friends and getting both sides at the same time!

Glamping in the woods
This property was unique. This was very out of the city, and in the woods. We definitely had a lot of privacy. It was a little bit of an uphill climb to get to the Knoll. But there was no one in site afterward. Very quiet. There were a bit of mosquitoes in the evening, but we usually were very tired from hiking and swimming, so we slept well.

Great getaway!
Having never been glamping before, we were excited to experience this for the first time. The description is very accurate and the pictures properly depict the site. The tent/furnishings were very comfortable. Bugs were plentiful between 7 and 9 at night. Spray was supplied but be prepared if you plan to hang out during those hours. The hosts communicated well in advance and directions to the site were spot on. They were on site for a detailed tour upon arrival. The hot tub under the stars was amazing and the outdoor shower to clean up before going to bed was roomy/private. Feels very remote but is actually not really very far from Garberville. Highly recommend and will stay again if in the area!

Remote glamping
As advertised this is a very comfortable tent in the remote hills of Humboldt county. There is no power in the tent which is both charming and challenging. The whole farm is off grid, from an environmental standpoint it’s a really interesting place. The hike to the latrine was challenging for two oldish Americans, but if you want to be away from everything this is a great spot. The tent was super comfortable and the staff were quick to help.

I stayed here as apart of a driving trip up the coast; I was a little nervous about the drive up but Ernesto and Ana were SO kind. Ernesto gave me helpful tips of where to go to the store and what to do in the area. The tent and location was beyond gorgeous. It had rained during my stay and it was beautiful to hear the rain and sleep so soundly. I was nervous about the rain but Ana and Ernesto helped me out and it only rained during the evening which became a really memorable and enjoyable part for me. BTW, the bed was the most comfortable bed out of all the places I stayed. The rain was light and stopped for a period of time and I was able to get in the hot tub and that was awesome. The outdoor shower was one of my favorite parts. I didn’t use any of the cooking stuff because of the rain and this being 1 night of my road trip (and it being easier for me to just go to the town for my meals for a night and the morning). If I stayed a couple more nights I would have definitely taken advantage of all the cooking stuff. Also, Ernesto welcomed me, gave me a tour and gave me advice whenever needed but otherwise I was chilling alone on the site- you can contact him anytime and it was nice to have someone close but still be able to be alone out there! Even though I stayed 1 night here it was one of my favorite parts of my trip and I felt so safe and happy. Thank you!

I only stayed here for one night after a long drive, so I didn't get to enjoy the whole camping experience. However, the serenity of sleeping in the redwoods surrounded by only the sound of nature can't be beat! Some of the best sleep I've had in a long time.

Lovely glamping site with friendly folks
If you are up for a bit of a drive off the beaten path, and a walk up the hill to the tent, this site is lovely. Hope to return sometime when we have more time to enjoy it.

This property was the best. I was apprehensive after I booked it because I realized it was up a lot of stairs, which I have a hard time with. But Ana was as accommodating and as helpful as could be. The stairs were still taxing, but they were worth it once we got to the top. The bed was comfortable and we had all of the blankets we needed.
