Rosemount Bothy-Garve

A cozy one bedroom highland cottage dating back to circa 1850 with several unique period features. Sleeps two guests, but can sleep up to four using the bed sofa. There is private parking to the rear of the property and only 2 hundred yards off the world famous North Coast 500 route (NC500). The property is located on the banks of the Black Water River. With easy access to walks straight from your door. Garve is a fantastic base to explore some of the best of the true highlands of Scotland and only 23 miles from the city of Inverness. The cottage was lovingly restored in 2018 by current owners John & Helen, and now boasts traditional features but with modern comforts.

Perfect & charming
The cottage was perfect for our first couple of nights in Scotland. We explored sights in the highlands and came home each day to our cozy abode. We didn’t get a chance to try the awesome wood stove/cook top but it was a beautiful backdrop. Beds were comfy, shower had great pressure and beautiful grounds to explore or just look at. Check out Tarvie, just up the road, for your breakfast coffee, hot rolls and baked goods - their tablet is the best!

Shhhhh……don’t tell anyone.
The air, the field with the sheep 10 steps from your door, trout a short stroll out the back, clean, generous and welcoming hosts, the loudest thing we heard was the lamb’s bleats for its mother. Just don’t tell anyone, it’s ideal.

Amazing wee cottage and brilliant hosts. Nothing to much trouble. Lovely area especially if you enjoy cycling and walking. The routes are endless. We will be back.

honestly the most beautiful weekend away we have all had in a long time. The bothy is in such a great location with the beginning of the NC500 so so close. Cant thank our hosts enough for the beautiful accommodation and recommendations they gave us. Thank you so much, we will be returning in the future.

Great house
John was a great host. We were late arriving on Christmas Eve and he waited for us and provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around the house. The property was just perfect for 4 of us- 2 adults and 2 kids. We had forgotten our phone charger when we left and John was even willing to drive 40 miles to drop it for us. But we picked it up on the way back.

Our stay at the Bothy was outstanding.
Perfect location for exploring this area or stopping off on the NC500. John and Helen are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The Bothy totally surpassed our expectations. We are already planning our next stay and I strongly recommend booking this property. For larger groups there are 2 additional larger properties. 10/10
