Quiet Country Cabin nestled on 100 Acres

Enjoy a quiet getaway at this charming cabin in the woods nestled on 100 acres. The cabin has a warm and inviting atmosphere with a rustic interior pine finish. Large windows invite the natural light and the outdoors in. Enjoy watching the animals in the morning with coffee or take in the gorgeous sunsets sitting on the expansive covered porch. Most often, there is a breeze rolling up from the valley every evening.

The ranch offers nature at its best! Coryell County has a rich Native American history. Explore for arrowheads along the ever changing bank of Cow House Creek. Get your camera ready for abundant photo opportunities! Soaring high above the Cow House is a nesting pair of eagles that have eaglets each year. We also have a handsome group of axis deer, black buck antelope, fallow and scimitar oryx in addition to our large whitetail population. During your visit is is likely that the animals will gather in the field in front of the cabin. Bring your binoculars for detailed viewing.

So, whether you are enjoying roasting hotdogs over a fire in the fire pit, a picnic by the lake while watching the geese or taking a walk, this is a great place to gather with family and friends.

The ranch is the perfect location for Fort Hood visitors. Travel time is about 40 minutes.

A couple of attractions in our area are the Spur Museum in Gatesville!

Quaint Little Cabin in Texas Hill Country
Celebrated my wife's birthday weekend in this cabin. Very nice, quiet and cozy. Scenic trails to hike. Abundance of wildlife (deer, jackrabbits, birds of prey). Would absolutely rent again.

Anniversary Trip
My husband and I visited this property for our 28th wedding anniversary and we were looking forward to a nice getaway. The property owner sent us the check in information as soon as we booked and encouraged us to contact her 15 minutes before we arrived so she could meet us at the gate and grant us access and give us a tour of the property. Great! We stopped to eat lunch 3 hours out and I notified the owner that we were 3 hours away and would contact her again when we were 15 minutes out. She replied with a thank you and told us to text or call her phone when we were close. I texted her when we were 15 minutes away and didn't receive a response so I sent a message on VRBO. Still no response. We get to the property and I call..no answer. I call and leave a message on her voicemail...twice. My husband calls and leaves a message. What made me even more frustrated was the fact that I had been up since 5am worked half a day and then rode 5 hours to this property for a nice weekend and we were sitting for over 40 minutes waiting to gain access. I finally contacted VRBO and they were able to contact the owner. She pulled up to the gate about 5 minutes after we got off the phone with VRBO and said she had been working in the yard or something and didn't get our texts and calls. She was very apologetic and offered us a tour but by then we just ready to get to the cabin. The cabin was nice and clean. Plenty of cooking supplies. There was no WiFi or Directv. We did see deer.

Beautiful country retreat
This place is beautiful, but the pictures do not do it justice. The house had everything you could possibly need to keep the kids entertained. The beautiful property has enough tree coverage to keep you cool even in July! 10/10

We enjoyed our stay immensely, especially the peace and quiet and the wonderful wildlife viewing. Corey was very kind to take us on an ATV tour of the ranch and answer all our questions. We were only disappointed that we could not get to the creek to see the waterfall and eagles nest due to accessibility issues with our vehicle and our physical limitations. Overall a delightful stay.

Our favorite
This was our second time staying at this property. This is an amazing place to stay if you love all things nature. The property is absolutely beautiful. We hiked and hiked and hiked. The kids had so much fun hunting for antlers and fossils, playing in the creek, and trying to sneak up on the deer to get a closer look.

Wonderful property!!
We loved our stay here and can’t wait to get back! It was a beautiful and peaceful place with lots of wildlife to see (deer, eagles, turkeys, birds, etc). The kids loved swimming, kayaking, and jumping in the pond. It was clean and cozy. We enjoyed the fire pit and ate s’mores every night. Walked to cowhouse creek and saw a bald eagle and its nest. The hosts were very friendly and responsive and gave us a great tour of the property.

Great place to chill and watch the animals!
We loved the property, being able to see the wildlife every day was a huge win, and it was very peaceful. The house itself was very cozy, the beds are great and comfortable as well. The heat works amazingly and we were very comfortable. It is a near-perfect oasis away from the city which was just what we were looking for! The only suggestions for the owners would be to update the TV system to have an Apple TV or a Fire or something so we could have logged into Netflix / streaming services. The only thing about the house that we didn't like was the bathroom downstairs when the bedrooms are upstairs. Made going to the bathroom at night for us older folks a pain :). That said, the heater in the bathroom itself was amazing for keeping that room warm during the night! There isn't much around the property close, which is how we like it, but there are plenty of things to do and see around the area within a 30-45 minute drive, we went to Gatesville a few times, two wineries, and Mother Neff State Park! And the property itself is nice to walk and see the animals all over. Didn't have a chance to use the pond as it was cold this past weekend but that looks like a fun time, especially if the grandkids / kids came with us! Highly recommend this property and the owners.

We have stayed here several times and will continue to come back! It’s clean, quiet, and the best part is the wildlife! We stayed warm and cozy during the cold weather but still were able to use the fire pit for s’mores and watch the deer in the yard. Love this place so much!

Ahhhh-mazing!
I celebrated Father's Day weekend here with my mom, brother, niece, hubby, son and daughter. I wanted to celebrate my father, who had recently passed, by being in a place that my family could enjoy what my father loved best: fishing, nature, bird-watching, hiking, swimming, deer-spotting, campfires, family and fun. This spot had it all! The great thing was that everyone could choose whichever activity they preferred, as a group or even alone, as you can easily walk the property to the creek, pond, or wherever interests you. The property is amazing, but Corey and Mitch are what really set this listing apart from others. The cabin has been meticulously curated with thoughtful details like robes, expansive toiletries, a small library of books from my childhood, fully functioning kitchen tools, a fridge and pantry stocked with the necessities you often forget you'll need, super efficient responses and helpful suggestions, and of course the fabulous tour of the property. The difference is they really make you feel like family. We didn't want to leave, and can't wait to go back.

5 Stars!
We recently returned home after a wonderful 3 day, 4 night stay at this beautiful property. Everything was perfect! The location is so quiet and peaceful, but close to town for groceries and restaurants. The kitchen and bathroom were stocked with everything you could need (and so clean!). The grill and campfire area were enjoyed by all in our group. The beds were comfy and bedrooms spacious. Everything was just as it is represented in the pictures. In addition to the wonderful cabin, the property was just amazing. We loved the tour when we arrived (Mr. Dick was the sweetest host!). Seeing the eagle's nest, the eaglets and one of the bald eagles flying overhead was a highlight! We had a great time kayaking in the huge pond and watching the deer come up to snack at the feeders in the evenings. All in all we would highly recommend this property, and if we return to the area we will definitely be staying here again!

Very nice family cabin
The property description is spot on. Everything was as described or better than stated in the listing. The property owners were very friendly and happy to show the family around. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities that we needed for a family of four. We were able to see plenty of wildlife and enjoyed catching the bass from the creek (1-2lb bass were plentiful for a small creek). Also found the biggest and most perfect arrowhead that I have ever seen along the bank of the creek. On an Olympic match scale this property would definitely take home the gold medal.

This place is awesome. My kids had a blast exploring the woods and looking for bones and antlers. We loved fishing the creek. Caught bass and perch on worms. If you need your nature fix this is the place! I did not want to leave! You get the whole ranch to yourself! The owners were gone during our stay but their father was so kind and considerate during our stay. I’m pretty sure he put out a bunch of bones for my kids to hunt for! He really made it a fun experience for my kiddos. Definitely want to go back!!
