When booking this cabin, I didn’t realize we would be working with a property management company otherwise I would have booked with someone else. We get to the house to find out you have to go to the “check in” building (14 min away from the cabin) to get our code because they needed to scan my ID. Point of Vrbo is the convenience of not having to do that. While staying there, a storm rolled through and knocked out the power from 2pm until 5am. The problem was, we couldn’t contact the electric company for an update since the landline didn’t work and we didn’t have their number, then we couldn’t find any flashlights. Luckily my husband brought one but 5 people had to use one flashlight. They gave us an emergency number to call if needed and when we did to find out where the flashlights were and what the estimated time for the power to come back on, they refused to answer our calls (left multiple VMs and called a min of 12x) even though they had no idea why we were calling. So much for an emergency number… When we brought up our concerns, a man named Dakota told us, “oh well”, “it wasn’t an emergency” and he refused to help us. In the end, we are very unhappy and will never use Parkside Management company again. We come up to Gatlinburg every few months and have never had an issue before.
In addition to the main issue above, the floor was extremely dirty so we had to wear socks and shoes our whole stay and the kitchen was barely stocked up with things to use for our stay.
