Lovely location and potential. Be aware of mold!
I wanted to love this property as it is an adorable cabin tucked into the mountainside with a small waterfall and creek running right beside it. The wrap around porch was perfect, lots of seating, extra camp chairs and the fire pit was an added bonus. However....the interior of the home is in dire need of a deep cleaning and mold remediation. The smell of mold indoors was intense after a few days of rain. The bathroom cabinet doors had mold growing inside as well as several windows. Overall, there was dust and dirt on most surfaces, the shower in the master has mildew, mold and just dirt on the floor and door. The corners of the master are deteriorated from moisture and show signs of mold growth. The 2nd bathroom was in need of repairs (loose toilet seat, floor vent register came up every time someone went in) and a deep clean as the shower curtain was very dirty with mildew and red mold. The kitchen was adequate with plenty of silverware/utensils etc. The beds were very comfortable. The washer and dryer were a nice addition however the washer is mildewed inside. It is super private and quiet. We are accustomed to older properties and cabins but the level of mold and dirt in this property was unfortunate. It would be perfect if cleaned and repaired. The road up to the property is single lane after it turns to gravel so care is needed to have room to move over to let cars pass. It's an easy drive to Asheville, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure.

Quiet and calm retreat
My husband and I stayed three days. The weather threw us a curve ball. I was hoping to enjoy the huge porch and listen to the water fall below. It was too cold to sit outside for very long and a drought had reduced the waterfall to a mere trickle. The rental was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The rental might be too small for four adults but it would definitely work for a family of four with small children. As other reviews mentioned the 1 mile dirt road to the cabin is very curvy. We got use to it after a few trips and those also using the road were very good about giving way to those they passed. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, plates, glasses, and silverware. There is a Keurig and a drip coffee pot. You’ll need to bring the coffee and all other amenities for cooking, even salt and pepper. I think they don’t want any food items left in the cabin with fear of attracting unwanted visitors. It was great having two bathrooms and both equipped with shampoo, soap, and conditioner. I would recommend this rental to those who like to getaway from the hustle and bustle.

This was supposed to be “11 minutes from the Biltmore” when it was over 30. The cabin had mold all throughout which causes our sons asthma to flare up pretty terribly, it was dirty with cobwebs and a spider in the shower, smelt dank and old when we got inside, the furnace was not working, the fire pit didn’t work, the stream for fishing was not even a stream; I believe it should be better maintained and cleaned as well as properly advertised. No waterfall, no stream, no fishing. I was very disappointed.

Mold on ceiling in master bedroom
The secluded location was just what we wanted. Upon entering we noticed a musky odor. Assumed it is an old mobile home. After being in bed for about an hour I began to cough. Cough followed by a headache. Through the rest of the night I found myself trying to cover my nose with the sheet and/or my cupped hand. After showering and getting prepared to leave for the workshop I scheduled to attend the next morning we looked around and discovered mold growing on the ceiling in the room we slept in. After the workshop we walked around downtown Hendersonville and I cleared up. We returned to the VRBO around 5pm. I took pictures of the mold called Vacasa explained the situation and was told they would get back to me. We slept in the other bedroom with no problems. We drove home 5 hours and I still haven’t heard from Vacasa.

Do better for the price & location
Pros: The cabin itself is nice, it is apartment size but nice. The master bed was super comfortable Water pressure in the bathrooms was good for the most part. Next to a creek which sounds beautiful and nice to be out on the rocking chairs in the morning just listening to it. Full kitchen to use and washer and dryer. CONS: Though the description says the cabin is on a gravel road it does fail to mention that it is a mile up the mountain on a single lane road on one side. It is hassle going up and coming down. But don’t forget the 10-15 minute drive down the winding road once you get off the gravel road. If you are looking for convenience this is not the place. garbage was overflowing from the trash can and I had to reach out to have someone come get it just so we could throw our trash away. But they didn’t come until the day before we left. The booking fees and cleaning fees were equal to the amount that we paid for the cabin. They want you to do a load of towels, the sheets and do the dishes before you leave. Also clean the cabin before you go. That's a lot of work I'm doing to pay them $$$ cleaning fees. A lot of windows but no curtains in main living area, people from the road people can see straight into the cabin. Full kitchen You get one thing but not the other. (Frying pan but no spatula, etc) If the description was honest and upfront about what it takes to get there then it would have been a 4.

Not what I was expecting
The property setting is nice lots Of trees and the sound of the small waterfall is a nice touch. But the home is not the same as the pictures is smaller the master bedroom with musky and mildew smell please Don’t advertise it for More than two people there is not enough space inside, the porch furniture and floor were covered with dust I specifically requested to leave a bottle of gas full for the barbecue, found 3 bottles empty we had to go 6 miles away to buy the gas. Our reservation was for 8 days we left 4 Days early. I will not recommend this home.

The property was secluded and had serene views. The waterfall was relaxing. The home was small but perfect for a couple. The king bed was somewhat uncomfortable but we had an overall great stay. The house is off a gravel and winding road so take it slow.
