Charming villa with pool, blossoming garden & view

Villa Due Leoni is a charming villa on two floors with private pool and garden situated on a lemon estate halfway Catania and Taormina and at only 1 km from the sea and the village of Riposto, where you can find fresh fish every day.

The garden has been transformed into a real paradise with palm trees, perfect lawns and an orchard with all kind of fruit trees. From the terrace and the pool (10 x 10 meters, 140 cm deep) you can enjoy a stunning view on the coast and on Mount Etna, often puffing. The pool is open all year round.

HH, Norway, October 2016: "This villa is truly on top of what we have experienced so far. Idyllically located in lemon plantation, Mt. Etna towering to the west and the Mediterranean sea to the east. The unspoilt village Riposto within easy reach by foot with several restaurants and local shops. Within short driving distances you even reach some of the most "necessary" attractions."

Villa Due Leoni consists of:

- Ground floor: a huge living space with dining table, sofa bed, lounge and fireplace, separate kitchen and toilet. From the living and the kitchen you can access the garden.

- First floor: three double bedrooms, a large corridor / bedroom with two bunk beds (four sleeps), two full bathrooms, and a huge terrace with view of the Etna and the sea. Stairs connects the terrace to the garden below. The terrace has a veranda with a big dining table.

All in all, Villa due Leoni is a peaceful and authentic Sicilian villa, ideal for friends and family who wish to explore the Eastern side of Sicily.

Please note that a caretaker lives in a separate part of the property and completely respects the privacy of the guests.

Perfect Place
This villa was everything and more. It is private and close to all! Plenty of room and the pool is so inviting!! You can pick your own herbs to cook with. Relax by the beach than come back and jump in the pool! Rooms are large and open. The host was extremely hospitable. He stayed in communication with us during our stay I would highly recommend this villa.

The house was more rustic than expected, and it would have been nice to know a caretaker liver on site. Not a problem, but it would have been nice to know. View of Mt. Etna was stunning, and the pool was maintained well. Surrounding area was a bit intimidating, and the entrance gates took some work. But overall, a nice place and very attentive hosts.

Great spot and a wonderful host
The villa has a rustic charm and the outdoor patio area was a great space for all the family and the kids loved all the fruit trees. Really helpful that the pool and steps are gated off to keep safe for the children. Giovanni was super helpful and easy to contact. Great time had by all :-)

Beautiful property and amazing hosts
We had the most amazing 10 days here. The villa and surrounding grounds were beautiful, and the pool was huge. Very popular with the younger members of our party. The hosts were kind and helpful, and even left gifts of fresh fruit, veg and home made wine. A truly fabulous break, cannot recommend highly enough.

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting
There was 6 adults and 2 small children, with lots of space still in the house. The house is set in lemon tree farm which is lovely. The pool was fantastic especially with small children. Both day and night had fantastic views of Etna. The lovely couple who own the property Mr & Mrs Forti are very caring and canā€™t do enough (even brought us local wine :-). Always checking to see if we need anythingā€™s for everything was ok. We had one small problem with electrics due to a big storm, but Mr & Mrs Forti got it sort straight away with no hesitation. We will be looking to come back next year!! Highly recommend!! Thank you Mr & Mrs Forti

Atmospheric holiday home on lemon plantation
We were two families with young children and have a lot of experience renting holiday homes. The house used to be a winery, but after some accident long time ago it was made into a lemon plantation in stead. That is why the living rooms has a very high ceiling (this was where they stored the wine before). We had a really good time! The house is a little dated, but everything works fine. All bedrooms have AC, although some of the beds are more comfy than others. All bedrooms are on the second floor, which makes it easy walking between the outside/pool area, and to your room. The outside area is very nice with shaded areas, sun chairs with cushions etc. There is a fantastic view of Etna and the area around. The pool has a fence around - perfect when you have small children. There is also an outside kitchen if you want to make food out doors. There is a fridge both downstairs and upstairs which makes it easy cooling water, drinks, food etc. They have a dishwasher. We had good communication with the elderly couple Mr and Mrs Foti. They came almost every day. They are happy to help and answer questions. There are also workers coming and going, as it is a working lemon plantation. Although they don't come into the house or pool area, some might feel that there is always someone else around. Since there are many trees around, you also have many midges. The electrical system might need an upgrade, as lights often flash when starting for instance the AC. You must have a car to get to the house, and the house has enough parking space. The road is a little bumpy and narrow right at the end, but that's part of the experience. Giarre was not the nicest of towns, but there are many nice towns and villages around that the Fotis can tell you about. We went to Etnaland, to Etna of course, and there are many good wineries in the area (we went to Planeta and Barone di Villagrande - both recommended). I also recommend the bakery Piccolo Forno, 10 min driving from the house. All in all we had a great time. We spent many hours in the pool and sunbed area. There is also an area in front of the house where there is a little space to play ball games. There are a lot of nice decorations and plants out side which give the place a nice charm. We would not mind coming again. Thank you for a great stay!

peaceful retreat and well equipped house
We were a group of nine staying at Villa Due Leoni - with an age range from 15 through to 72 - the house is a little set back from the town, so a walk into town is required - however this also means the house is very peaceful, surrounded by lemon trees and with spectacular views of every changing Etna from the pool. We were well looked after by our hosts and really enjoyed our stay.

Superb property
We spent a great week in September in this house. Located near Giarre the house is in fact a large property, almost a compound, with a big yard, terraces, pool, and all the amenities. Built on a refurbished old winery, the house is large, tastefully decorated, relaxed, well equipped and secured. Although we were 6 adults in our group, there was plenty of room for all of us without intruding in each otherā€™s privacy. Bedrooms are large and comfortable with thoroughly clean bathrooms, properly stocked with all necessities. The whole house was nicely furnished, well stocked, attractive, at ease, and fun. The property is conducive to self-catering as it provides several well-equipped kitchens, barbecue grill, and outside and inside dining tables. It was quite fun to cook in the evenings and spend time with our friends in this relaxed and pleasant environment. The property is in fact a functioning large family vacation home which is sometimes rented out. The owners are a really nice retired couple who do not live on the premises. They greeted us upon our arrivals and met them several times during our stay. It was a pleasure to chat with them and listen to the history of this amazing place. They were always hospitable, warm, well informed and helpful. Sometimes in the morning we would even find, on a table outside, a nice bottle of their house wine waiting for us as a present. The exterior of the house is at least as pleasurable as the interior. Well stocked with long chairs around the refreshing pool, tables everywhere, chairs in the garden. All around there are pieces of art made in-situ by a local artist. There is also a charming lemon garden where one can lay on a long chair for a reading or a chat. The whole property is well secured electronically and therefore safe. There is also ample parking space for several cars. An exceptional property, large, comfortable, and welcoming, well suited mostly for groups. We had a great time there and we recommend it highly.

Hidden oasis!
A lovely, large property with great pool and views set in the most wonderful (and extensive) Lemon Grove which completely surrounds the villa. Our host Mr Foti visited most days and was very approachable and friendly. The villa is set just outside Riposto down a rather unprepossessing lane, but once within the villa you feel in the countryside, miles away! Easy distance to Taormina and Etna. Recommended.

Lovely, beautiful, comfortable and just perfect!
We stayed there for 2 weeks, and we would love to stay much longer! The house is very comfortable, the garden and the terrace is beautiful and the kids loved especially the pool! The owners are very lovely and caring. The views are astonishing, from one side the lemon orchard and from the other side Etna. The sea is very close and very nice, the restaurants are in walking distance. We enjoyed it very much!!

We enjoyed our stay at the villa, helped by Mr and Mrs Foti being most friendly and helpful. It was necessary for them to meet us in Riposto and guide us to the villa as it was difficult to find, not showing up on our GPS. We availed ourselves of the terrace and pool for relaxing, eating and swimming. The kitchens and BBQ were great. The position of the villa enabled us to visit many places in the surroundings, Mt. Etna, Taormina, and further afield . It was a well serviced, comfortable place to stay, surrounded by citrus orchards.

Lovely old farmhouse with plenty of room. - we were a party of 5 but there is space for 3 couples and four children and a baby cot. Set in lovely gardens and its own citrus orchard with plenty of outside seating and tables around a nice pool. Owners very friendly and supplied us with fresh produce from the garden, eggs and wine. Riposto is a small town with a number of shops, fish market and restaurants. I would recommend restaurant Botti on the sea front for great pizza and large portions. - definitely share your starters! Riposto is centrally placed to reach Etna, Taormina, Catania, Syracuso and Messina. I would certainly recommend this villa especially for families wanting a relaxing time.

The property was as advertised and the owners were very welcoming and helpful.
When we arrived the owners were there to greet us and showed us around the house. The house was clean and well maintained.The bedrooms were very comfortable and the terrace upstairs had ample space for relaxing and eating. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the spacious gardens with a beautifu view l of Mount Etna It is a very good base to see the the east of Sicily and would highly reccommend the property to any family or group of friends who want to relax but also tour the area. Beyond our expectation!
Omg this house and the hospitality by the host was top notch. Our experience has become a memory for life, living in the middle of an ecological garden where lemontrees surround you is beyond our expectation. Imagine waking up in the middle of the garden of Eden. The localisation of the property is very strategic if you want to visit great beaches, Taormina and the surrounding cities. The host was one of a kind, making sure that our visit would not lack anything. We are allready planning our next visit.

Wonderful house and hosts
We had a great stay at the Due Leone house and would happily come back again. We were two families staying with five kids aged 2-7 y/o. We had no issues in this regard. The place felt very safe for kids. The pool, for example, can be locked. The location is good. Riposto - the nearby small town - has what you need in terms of groceries, food market, ice cream, etc. Itā€™sa very short drive. Otherwise Mount Etna, Siracusa, Noto are all a distance that can be done as a daytrip. The house is beautiful and surrounded by a big lemon grove. The furniture and beds are not luxurious but were definitely acceptable. We didnā€™t miss anything. The hosts were so kind and responsive. We HIGHLY recommend this place.

Fijne vakantie
Heerlijk verblijf. Alles is goed voorzien. Ideaal om te verblijven met kinderen dankzij het grote zwembad. We maakten dagelijks gebruik van het grote terras, buitenkeuken. Ook heel gastvrij ontvangen door mr.en mevr. Foti die zorgden voor wijn verse kruiden en limoenen. Topverblijf dat prachtig is gelegen met zicht op etna en zee.
