The space
EV CHARGING STATION ON SITE! Bring your charger, we have the 50 amp receptacle! The pool will open in May for the season, but the Hot Tub is off-line for rennovations till further notice. (I blew up the boiler by mistake, so we are taking this opportunity to do some other needed upgrades). We have resumed tours of the Main House. You are welcome to hang out in the Saloon, play pool, cards or roulette or listen to music. WE HAVE JUST RE-FIT THE THEATER WITH A HIGH DEFINITION VIDEO PROJECTOR AND 20FT> SCREEN. THINK MOVIE NIGHT!! We also allow a minimum of 48 hours vacancy between guests. As we are social distancing, we will have little contact with guests. If you want to escape the big city, hide out and relax in secluded rural New Mexico, the L.C. Ranch is here for you.
DOG FRIENDLY!! $10 per dog/per night Pet Fee! We love dogs. No cats please! Dogs left unattended must be crated or kenneled. We have a 6' kennel on site. We have two very large Newfoundlands that love company!
The "Main Bunkhouse" is an old Historic adobe Cowboy Bunkhouse, built in 1892. Like a time capsule, It is only partially renovated, with plenty of rustic charm and character. It is a well appointed accommodation in an Historic setting, perfect for two well acquainted couples, or a large family up to 7 people. Two Bedrooms, the back bedroom with King Size four-post bed has the privacy you would expect from a master bedroom. The first bedroom with a Queen and single lacks that privacy as it is also access to the King Bedroom and small bathroom. A very comfortable Queen size pull out couch, closest to the large bathroom, in the huge living room will accommodate another couple. AIR CONDITIONED, full kitchen, 50" flat screen Satellite TV, 2 private bathrooms. To be clear, there are NO restaurants or grocery stores nearby. You have a full kitchen, so do your grocery shopping on your way here. Silver City is 30 miles away and has supermarkets and restaurants. Once you're settled in, time to check out the Ranch. You simply must take the tour of the Main House. You will not understand this place until you do. Tours are complimentary for guests. A New Mexico Historic Site, and on the National Registry of Historic Places, The National Park Service, in their publication "The Cattleman's Empire" described the million acre L & C as "Overshadowing all other ranching operations in the Southwest", and “The L.C. remains as one of the last surviving Great Ranch Houses of the Old West”. The Lyons and Campbell Ranch Headquarters is a 60 room, 8 acre, Adobe compound that today includes a 27 room Main House, Saloon, Jail, Chapel, Theatre (with new High Def Video!), Gallery, Bunkhouse, Bath house with large Mimbres design, wood-fired communal Hot Tub, Swimming Pool and Lanai with wood burning brick pizza oven and BBQ. (Bath house, Hot Tub, Swimming Pool and pizza oven are seasonal, and not available in the winter.)
The cattle, cowboys and million acres are long gone. Cattle Baron Tom Lyons' 27 room adobe mansion, lavishly refurnished, remains along with all the outbuildings of the L C Ranch Headquarters. A 501(c)3, your stay will help fund ongoing restoration projects. Donations are tax-deductible.
Guest access
Guests can access the Lanai, swimming pool, Mimbres design hot tub and are welcome in the Historic Saloon The Saloon has a pool table, professional P.A. system and great atmosphere, but no liquor license, so it is BYOB, as is the entire ranch. The Gallery has a Steinway grand piano. We encourage musicians to bring their instruments and enjoy the many inspiring venues on the ranch. Consider the comfort and seclusion ideal as a song writing retreat..
Other things to note
The L.C. is a big property. At first you will need help just finding your way around, It is all very old, but very fun. We ask everyone to respect the age and condition of the ranch and things that are here. The oldest parts of the ranch date from 1810. The Jail looks like it, from the original adobe mud plaster to the vigas in the ceiling. Some of the activities here on the LC will require assistance from us, like music in the Saloon, or firing up the wood-fired Hot Tub in the Bathhouse (seasonal). If you are looking for peace and quiet, that's easy. If you want to party, we can help you with that too.
