Goodwick is close by and has several shops, pubs, an excellent restaurant (Farmhouse Kitchen) and the Fishguard Bay Hotel, highly recommended for traditional Sunday lunches – a tribute to a more gracious era which overlooks the fabulous harbour from where there are daily ferry services to Ireland

Walk the nearby bridle path to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and rugged Strumble Head with its bird and marine life observatory and Lighthouse - perhaps some of the most magnificent coastal scenery in all of the Path’s 186 miles. Seals breed hereabouts & porpoises & pods of dolphins are occasionally seen offshore. There are more than a dozen sandy beaches, coves & harbours between St Davids and Newport.

Britain's smallest city with a magnificent medieval Cathedral nestled at its heart. Just a village really with a variety of interesting shops, galleries, crafts and a choice of places to eat and drink. Do take the opportunity to book a memorable boat trip out to the famous bird islands.

Some of the highest sea cliffs in Wales, home to breeding colonies of sea birds, birth place to hundreds of grey seals on the shores around and a special combination of wild marine flowers and gorse provide habitats for small birds some rare. The late John Piper 1903-1992 used his Pembrokeshire cottage as a retreat and a studio. He made many paintings and prints of local scenes, usually on sale at Alun Davies Gallery in Porthgain. The cottage is tucked in under the embrace of Garn Fawr Iron Age Fort opposite Ty Pegi.
