You know when you get to a place and you can see how the pics were taken to flatter the place but the reality isn't so nice? This was the opposite - even better than we expected!
We came from California for 4 nights during spring break to see dinosaur footprints and the eclipse. We had such a good time!! I wish we could have stayed longer and I might have tried to extend our stay were it not for obligations back home. Everything about the house was lovely, kitchen was well-stocked, tons of towels, no issues with noise, gorgeous decor. Tons of thoughtful little details - outlets/USB charging ports on lamps, luggage racks, bathroom has a heated fan for when you get out of the shower, treats for the horses.
Brad gave us excellent local recommendations:
- Fossil Rim Wildlife Center - wasn't on my radar at all - it was incredible and one of the highlights of the trip!
- Granbury Town Square - highlights were the oils/vinegars/spices at 1870, toys and decor from Wagon Yard, and homemade fudge at Southern Star Market. Unfortunately the Silver Saddle Saloon was closed.
- Stumpy's - went for lunch - the menu has a joke: "Kid's Menu aka duck food" - accurate. You could have walked across the hungry carp.
- Hard 8 BBQ in Stephenville - we had never been to a BBQ place where you met the pit master - worth the drive!
- Family ranch - Brad & family were so kind in showing us around and letting us meet their animals.
Thanks so much Brad & fam!
