Very good rest after a tough drive from Fargo
I was pretty exhausted after a challenging drive up I-29 from Fargo through pouring rain on a bumpy pavement. The front-desk clerk was very polite and very efficient, and came down and got my heat working to my satisfaction. Everything in the room worked well, and the bed was firm enough to support my back. The breakfast was fine and the staff were friendly. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience, and would recommend this motel to anyone looking for a comfortable place which covers the basics.

America's Best Value...in a Depression
I should have known the rate was too good to be true for a family needing 4 rooms, but I tried it anyway. And upon pulling in the lot we had a sense this was going to be interesting. Receptionist was very kind and helpful, but after checking in it took about two minutes to realize this wasn't a good move for our family with children. Walking into the building the smell of pot was palpable and nauseating. Getting into our rooms we noticed in one of the rooms that the safety lock was broken. My married daughter with their little boy said, "See you later" and they went and purchased their own hotel elsewhere. Everyone was uneasy, so I asked if there was any way we could get our money refunded, and the receptionist contacted the owner who then sent us to a slightly better hotel of his (Knights Inn). While we did get three rooms for the remainder of our family, we did not get any money refunded. All in all...a terrible experience.

An safe stay
The property is older so I don't expect new. But, it had an odor in the part of the building I was in. The first room I had was very strong. The desk clerk was very nice, letting me see another room. It was not as bad so I stayed and she switched rooms for me. The room was clean and the breakfast was adequate. It just needs some refurbishing and new carpet, etc. to get rid of the smell. I did feel safe and it was quiet as everyone settled for the night.

There was little we liked, so we did not stay there. There was a strong smell of weed all along the hallway. There were holes in the curtains, the furniture was worn and scratched, thebed looked uncomfortable, the grate on the heater was broken. Everything lookednold and worn.
