Oyo hotel, greenock
Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely white towels in room. A continental breakfast was available. The room we had was rather small and so was the bed. I think it should be used as a single room, but for 2 nights we managed. The lift in hotel seemed to be out of order, and there are about 20 steps to first floor. Near harbour with a Lidl store 2 minute walk. A 10 minute walk to shopping mall and town centre. Had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend. Weather was also a bonus

Don't bring your family there.
The place is really old, falling apart and unkept. Things are really in a terrible condition such as broken shower head, mouldy bathroom seals, leaking radiators, taped up wall sockets, cables and wires hanging out, old musty and dirty carpets, stained beds with cheap mattresses. The breakfast was not cooked, it consisted of a paper bag left outside the door containing croissant, pan au chocolat, yoghurt and a juice all from lidl. The people working there were nice but that was the only redeeming quality.

Lovely staff, shame about everything else
Firstly, I would say that without exception, each member of staff I encountered was polite, friendly and went above and beyond what I expected to help me. I made this booking very last minute due to cancellation of my forward travel. I had my bike with me and the staff put it in their store room over night. There was a band on I think in the bar below and the music went on very late and was incredibly loud in my room. In the evening I couldn't get any hot water from the sink, but as the shower seemed hot I decided not to bother anyone as I was already dressed for bed after a super long day. By morning, I was sweaty (maybe there was a plastic cover on the mattress?), I'd struggled to sleep due to a combination of feeling alternately hot and cold all night in my very soft bed, and the huge sound bleed from the bar and other rooms. All I wanted was a shower. The water was freezing. I ran it for ten minutes then gave up. I had high hopes for my continental breakfast which actually turned out to be a stale croissant and some pre packaged orange juice with a yoghurt (I'm dairy free) in a paper bag, left outside the room. I decided to cut my losses at around 9am. I couldn't find any staff, no one answered the door bell, no one answered the reception phone number so eventually I had to ring the number for the manager. She was ever so polite but had clearly been asleep and she had to call someone else to bring my bike so I could finally leave. I won't be back.

This is a decent budget hotel. The elevator was not working, for the last year apparently. The breakfast was not to my taste. Croissants and muffins. I prefer toast and eggs. However good waterfront location, good price and pleasant staff

The place needs shutting down and i want a total refund. We had to sleep with our clothes on even after asking them to put the heating on and no kettle. The second night there we got another hotel as the room was tiny, the pillows were filthy, still no kettle, a tv that didnt work, electric extentions going around the room and a wardrobe trying to fall over. ALL the furniture looks like its out of a skip and thats no lie.

Originally from Greenock but now residing in Aberdeen we know the hotel as the Port & Harbour which we frequently used. A wee trip after lock down brought us here staff very friendly and helpful great atmosphere things still coming out of lockdown mode enjoyed so much we’ve booked for Christmas.

Great value hotel Greenock
Travelled to attend funeral. Just needed vsomewhere to stay and found this hotel on line. Looked good and very central. Very good value. Nice comfortable room, slept like a log. Staff and night porters very friendly.may not have a reason to come to Greenock again but have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

would certainly recommend Gin House
My wife and I stay here quite often to attend the Big Band Sound in the Nicholson bar in Greenock great music very talented musicians, the hotel is ideal very central and not far from a Weather-spoons pub the staff are very friendly and professional also very good value for money no hesitation recommending the Gin House.
