A typical Andalusian Cortijo located between Lújar and Castell de Ferro, on the Costa Tropical of Granada. Surrounded by mountains, this farmhouse offers rest and tranquility, as well as the possibility of enjoying an indescribable natural environment.

The accommodation is perfect whether you like the mountains or the beach, since it is located at an altitude of 250m surrounded by the mountains of the Sierra de Lújar and only 15 minutes from the beaches of the Costa Tropical of Granada, among which stand out the famous cove of La Rijana.

The beaches of the Costa Tropical are perfect for water sports such as diving or paddle surfing. Thanks to its crystal clear waters you can enjoy the incredible seabed of the Mediterranean. In addition, Cortijo Vacas Gordas is located 1 hour from the beautiful beaches of Nerja on the Costa del Sol and 1h30 from the Cabo de Gata Natural Park on the Almería coast.

If you prefer the mountains, the farmhouse is 1 hour from the well-known white villages of the Alpujarra of Granada such as Capileira, Pampaneira and Bubión and 1h30 from the southernmost ski resort in Europe, Sierra Nevada, where you can enjoy the snow in winter and spectacular views of Morocco when the weather is good. In addition, there are hiking trails on foot that leave directly from the farmhouse. The typical Andalusian villages of Gualchos and Lújar are only 15 minutes from Vacas Gordas.

On the other hand, if you stay in Vacas Gordas you can visit the cities of Granada and Almería, just 1 hour from the accommodation, and Malaga, 1h30 away. The route is by highway so it is not very heavy.

In Castell de Ferro there are bars, restaurants, shops, pharmacies, banks, etc., and Motril is only 25 minutes from Vacas Gordas, where you can find more variety of shops, the port, beach bars, etc.

Cortijo Vacas Gordas is composed by La Bodega, a three bedrooms and two bathrooms house with fully equipped kitchen (bbq) and living space, three bedrooms with bathrooms in front of the swimming pool and our living room El Molino, with air conditionner perfect to stay during the warmer summer hours. There are a lot outdoor places with mountains views.

In Cortijo Vacas Gordas we propose breakfast for 8€/pers and dinners for 25€/pers (drink and dessert included). We use quality and local products and all our food is home made. You can also enjoy a typical Spanish paella for 6+ people for 30€/pers our vegetarian menu if you ask in advance.

For us the communication with the guests is very important. We try to do our best to be sure your stance is perfect and you are confortable at our little paradise. We love nature and the respect of it is very important for us.
