Salmon House is nestled on a quiet 1 lane road in the residential neighborhood of Guernewood Park with redwood trees rivaling those at local Armstrong Woods State Park. It’s centrally located - just a 10-minute walk to a popular public river beach, 5-minute drive to downtown Guerneville, 8 minutes to scenic Monte Rio, and 25 minutes to breathtaking views of the Sonoma coast at Jenner. Salmon House is full of family-friendly amenities! Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch behind 200 ft tall redwood trees, use the BBQ to make lunch and feast under the patio table umbrella, spend the evening hours around the outdoor fire pit, and take a soak in the hot tub while enjoying the night sky and forest. The house has 2 kayaks and a wagon for guest use so if you want to paddle the river or have a picnic without having to get in the car you can.
Know Before You Book:
Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Salmon House is 6 people, not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.
Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.
Bed Sizes: First Bedroom: King bed; Second Bedroom: Queen bed; Living Room: Double/Full Sleeper Sofa.
Heat Source: The house has a gas wall heater on a thermostat and a woodstove set into the fireplace (no firewood or kindling provided).
Docks and beaches are seasonal only and available from mid-June to mid-September providing the summer dams are in. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats that are provided in some of our homes are also available from mid-June to mid-September only. The river is usually too swift for boating in the winter and many docks and beaches are under water until late spring.
Location: Salmon House is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park in the driveway and along the front fence and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Stairs: There are about a dozen stairs from the parking area to the front door and approximately 10 steps from the back deck to the hot tub in the yard. The outdoor dining and seating areas have gravel paths and steps. The living and sleeping areas are all on one level once you are inside the house.
Fencing: The property is fully fenced when the gate is closed.
Access to the Hot Tub: Is through a sliding door in the larger bedroom or from the front of the house and through a gate.
Common Amenities not included: This home does not have Air Conditioning, but there is a ceiling fan in each bedroom.
Proximity to wineries: There are tasting rooms in downtown Guerneville (1.2 mi) and oodles of tasting rooms at vineyards within 5 (Korbel) to 10 (wineries on Westside Road) miles.
Nearest River Beach: The neighborhood beach in Guernewood Park is a half mile walk from the house.
Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches near Jenner are approx. 12 miles away.
