Cozy Cabin review
We liked the cabin. It was very clean except for the dish strainer that should be tossed it was so dirty. The rug in the hall between bedrooms was turned up on the end almost causing a fall. The road to the cabin is long and mostly dirt. It was in such bad shape it rattled your teeth. It was horrible to drive on. The cupboard next to the refrigerator needs to be cleaned out. It is filled with stuff people have left and much of it is out of date. The cabin itself is cozy and on the lake but has some problems that need to be addressed.

Lovely Sebec Lake experience
Camp Howie is the quintessential lakeside cabin, and we’ve booked and enjoyed stays the last two years for our family (four adults, two teens, and a toddler). While slightly cozy a family of our size, we’ve been able to make it work and have enjoyed utilizing the covered porch for meals and relaxing and listening to the loons in the evening. The long and bumpy dirt road to get to the cabin is an experience, but just made us glad to finally arrive at camp! Swimming is possible off the boat ramp, and we hope that plans for a dock come to fruition as being able to use a dock for boating and swimming would make an already incredible stay even better. Communication from the owner, Kathleen, has always been prompt, pleasant, and efficient - we know we’re in good hands and that any issues or questions will be addressed promptly. For example, during this year’s stay the whole town lost power for a few hours overnight, and I promptly received a text from Kathleen at midnight checking in on us and letting us know that she was aware of the outage and passing along the power company’s estimate for restoration. We also had a question about the stove later in the week that she answered promptly. We love Camp Howie and would recommend it to anyone looking for a woodsy lakeside getaway!

Great location and secluded quiet cabin with a beautiful view. The only problem we had was that there were 8 people but linen and towels for 6. We made it work and had a wonderful vacation!

Sebec
We enjoyed our stay because of the natural beauty, the hiking, kayaking, swimming, mountain biking and fishing right out the back door. It's a beautiful location but we wished it had a dock and less vegetation at the edge of the water which blocks the majority of the view of this beautiful lake. Very clean and quiet, perfect for unwinding. Over-all an enjoyable stay.

Peaceful Retreat
This was my family's first time staying on Sebec Lake. We found it very peaceful and the cabin was comfortable. We loved hearing the Loons on the lake each day and enjoyed coffee on the porch watching the sunrise. The boat launch for our canoe was easily accessible. Overall a wonderful week!

Incredible location with great host!
We were blown away by the peaceful tranquility of this property! The house was in good condition and very well kept throughout. The outside was also well maintained with amazing views of the lake. We had a great stay and the host was very quick to respond and accommodating. It is hard to find places that are still this quiet and tucked away. Spectacular view of the stars at night time.

Easy summer living
We loved our stay at Camp Howie on Lake Sebac. It was quiet and peaceful with trails for our dog to run around and a boat launch for us to take a kayak out. We spent our days eating breakfast on the porch, hiking, kayaking, and grilling, and finished our night by the fire pit. We came prepared and had everything we needed so it was easy summer living!

Beautiful view of Sebec Lake
The location of this cabin on Sebec Lake was fantastic. We especially enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning while eating breakfast, sitting on the porch, and exploring all of the trails around the property. The cabin was neat and clean when we got there. The description of the property was accurate except that there was only one gallon of water left for us and we had to buy our own firewood. The heater that was installed did a good job heating the cabin, however, on days we didn't have firewood.

Perfect Location!
Sebec Lake has been a family destination for over 60 years. When the family cabin was sold, location on the lake became an issue. What a great replacement for our family! This cabin is in the perfect spot on the lake! The co.munication and preparation for our stay were great. What a great vacation!

Beautiful location
Beautiful cabin with a great view of the lake, very quiet. The cabin was clean overall except there were toe nail clippings on the rug in the living room area which was really gross. Water shoes absolutely necessary if people want to swim.

This cabin is magical if you want to get away from it all. Very private, peaceful, and quiet.
The setting is stunning and the cabin is well equipped for our needs. The drive in from the main road is roughly 20 minutes so it’s a bit of a hike to get to town (around 30 min to grocery store). Well worth it and just lovely. We’d visit again!
