Accommodation In Guiyang
Guiyang is the capital of Guizhou Province and located in the south-western region of China. Visitors to Guiyang discover the city's colourful culture and wide range of ethnic groups. It's an excellent place to visit while you explore the region, thanks to the nearby beauty of the mountains caves and rivers. Guiyang is often overlooked by visitors to China, but don't miss out! Book a Guiyang hotel and come for a fantastic holiday without the crowds.
Go to Qianling Park and see what it's like to be a local in China. Browse the vendors selling delicious snacks, and visit the friendly monkeys that are very accustomed to people. If you want to see some bigger animals, head to the zoo or stop in at the amusement park and try your luck on the arcades. As evening falls, the best place for a walk is in Hebin Park, which has been crafted to have a distinctive Egyptian feel. You can't miss the gigantic UFO-shaped restaurant in the centre, as you check out the locals and do some shopping in the market.
The best temple in town is Hongfu Temple, and is comparable to the Lama Temple in Beijing. It's absolutely stunning, and was originally a monastery in the early Qing Dynasty. Walk through the beautifully landscaped grounds and see the large deity figures towering over the shrines, as well as ponds full of giant carp. Don't forget to throw a handful of coins in the water wells for good luck!
Take a day trip out to Tianhetan and explore the cave systems, canals and enjoy the rides in the water park. Ride a boat through flooded caves before winding through farming areas and into the heart of the mountain through only a narrow opening. If you're feeling adventurous, rent a bike from Huaxi Park and enjoy the cycling track along the peaceful country roads. You couldn't ask for a better escape from the city as you zoom past streams, quaint pavilions and tea houses that are perfect for a drink or a bit of lunch.
While you're in this part of China, you can't pass up the chance to try Maotai Liquor, which is produced right here. Officially known as China's National Liquor, Maotai is the third-most famous distilled alcohol in the world - and at 53% proof it's not for the faint of heart! As a souvenir see the range of Anshun Batik, which is hand-woven fabric in traditional ethnic styles. The cloths, tapestries, caps and purses all make for fantastic gifts.
