This was the most elegant and comfortable BnB we've ever stayed in. We loved being in Glenda's upscale, perfectly appointed apartment. She has put so much artistry and care into every detail. The walls are hung with art, and the shelves have creative glass pieces made in Glenda's gallery downstairs. The beds are new and very comfortable. The kitchen was perfect, completely stocked with high quality cookware and anything you might need.
A welcome basket greeted us when we arrived. And coffee. And popcorn. The apartment is quiet, with great separation of spaces. It has two bedrooms and two baths, a living room and hangout room off the kitchen. The apartment is well insulated and stayed comfortably warm, even when the temperature outside dropped below freezing. Glenda artistically retained the feeling and decor of this historic 1900 building.
Glenda is a treasure. She has the kind of energy I can only wish for. She's attentive to every need, kind and generous. She teaches glass blowing in the studio downstairs. If you're there when she's teaching, take a little time to go in and watch. Fascinating.
We fell for Guthrie and will be back. More to do there than first meets the eye. Don't miss a tour of the Masonic Temple. It's gorgeous inside and has quite a history. Every other Saturday evening, Byron Berline hosts a concert right across the street from the apartment. These are world-class musicians. Look him up on Wikipiedia if you don't know him already.
All in all, ten stars out of five. We hope to return in the future for a longer stay (we threatened not to leave...) Thank you, Glenda, for all of it.
