The shower was fantastic. The place was reasonably good value for money. We liked that it had a fridge, other places in Europe that cost more did not (which was really annoying). There were good shops nearby - supermarket and food. Good access to the centre of Hamburg via rail, not far to the station. Security good. We did not like three things. The washbasin in the bathroom was clogged up but they did not fix it. We saw a silverfish in the bathroom. The room had a verandah but one was not allowed to us it. Overall though we were reasonably happy with it.

What was good: Reasonable price for Hamburg. Clean room. Good bed. Staff was nice. Nice 10+ minute walk to the U2 station. Once you got off the main road the hotel was on, the residential neighborhood seemed nice too. Found a nice pastry shop. What wasn't so good: Most overseas flights like ours arrive in the morning. So when we arrived we couldn't check in until 4pm (room cleaning we found starts around 9am, so I don't know why a room would not be available) and wanted rest a bit and freshen up before going off to my conference at Messehalen. So I saw business partners unshaven and feeling a bit travel worn. Staff at least let us store our bags next to the bar. The hotel sits next to a busy gas station and some sort of clinic. Our room on the seventh floor when we finally were able to get into our room needed some air, so we opened a window. We wondered why it smelled like fried fast food, so I looked outside to discover a Burger King down below. Construction workers were drilling on the floor above starting at 8am Weds and Thursday. Couple next door on Thursday morning had a half hour long screaming fight with body slamming into our shared wall - no police arrived however. No one cleaned the elevator from the construction dust, so I had to be careful not to brush up against the walls in my business/dinner clothes. Had to borrow a french press and buy coffee from a store in town so we could have coffee before heading out in the mornings.

The lady at the front desk seemed approachable when we first checked in, that was about the only time. A few hours after checking in we asked her to print something for us. She scoffed and complained how she didn't have time for that but insisted on doing it anyways. She easily could have said no, and I wouldn't have thought much of it. The hotel was okay, rooms kind of depressing, clean for the most part but under the sink looked like some light poop stains. Shared balcony made us a little uneasy as anyone else staying there had access to our room if the window was open.

Far away from .....
1- No phone in the room. 2- No staff in case of emergency. 3- No wifi. 4- No lobby. 5- Far away from everything. 6- Construction noise at all time. 7- Not ready for international travelers ( TV channels all Germany's) And many more that won't fit in this box.

Overall a nice place to stay. The only down side is the internet, they only have LAN (no wifi). Also, in order to connect to internet you need them to send you a sms with passcode. Each passcode does not last very long.

Beautiful Room
Beautiful room fairly close to the train. It was really a nice spacious room and very clean and modern. The bed was super comfortable. The only downside was the lack of WiFi in the room. There is a landline to plug into, however I didn't have that capability. I had to leave the comfortable room every time I wanted to use the internet. Fortunately, free WiFi is available at the fast food restaurants nearby.

Plus: Other reviewers have complained about the checkin procedures, but we had no problems. The woman at the desk was very friendly and nice. Two grocery stores within a five minute walk. Easy to reach from the S-bahn station. Minus: Could never get the internet to work (it's only wired, no WiFi, but we brought our own router - still no success). Room is very basic and not very cheerful. Overall: A no-frills room at a good price - nothing more.

Aparion isn't a bad place. The price is exceptional, and the room is large and clean. The breakfast is minimal, but adequate. The location is not that great. It's out of the way and you have to take the trains to get anywhere. The biggest hassle was the fact that the WiFi was down while I was there and there is no where nearby to log on. This was a major problem for me. I'd probably give it a higher rating had the WiFi been operational.

very convinient for me
I enjoyed my stay because I am not your typical tourist. I have family and friends all over he city and, therefore, travel all over, so, S-Bahn close by is great. I love to have a kitchenette because I am independent of restaurants. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will be back. Drawbacks: No cleaning service even when you stay long, problems with internet and I had to move to a different floor to get internet, also, front desk not always available during day. I would like a safe in the room. As I said, overall, it suits my purpose well.

The apartment worked well, elevator service good. There is no front desk except for a couple of hours in the morning and in mid-afternoon. The local area is behind the hotel about 1 km. Traffic noise all the time, but we got used to it quickly. Good restaurants in the community behind the hotel, only a Burger King and McDonalds nearby. There is a book of instructions but it is only in German. Some of the women who work the desk speak English. Roon was clean to start, but no service the week we were there. Yoyo.

The Aparion is a good choice if you don't require any services other than a comfortable room. The front desk staff were only there on 2/5 days we stayed (no weekends), they were very helpful. Check in is done via a kiosk. Be advised if you arrive late, you will need a code to enter the front lobby, otherwise you will not have access to the kiosk for check in. The location was great, close to the S-bahn Langenfelde station (5-8 mins) and a 15 min walk to the U-bahn Osterstrasse station. It's approx a 15-20 min ride on either to the center of town. The room was clean, but needs a little more decor to brighten them up. Pictures and a small sofa would make things much more inviting. The room reminded me of a school dormitory. The hotel is located on a fairly busy road, so noise may be a concern for some especially with the windows open (no AC). That being said, we would stay at this property again. We liked the location, cleanliness and the staff when available.

NO ENGLISH HELP AS ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN GERMAN
We arrived late on Wednesday evening having contacted the place by phone during their stated times. We were given the code to obtain entry to the building and there is a wall mounted checking-in machine. Need Surname and creditcard details punched in and card keys are dispensed. There was no room service until Monday when a manager burst into our room. Then they did nothing about changing towels or bedding. There is no WIFI, the Internet is via cable [if you have a socket to receive it!!] and all instructions are in German. Eventually found out that you have to input a mobile phone number to receive an 8 digit code. However, this has a limited life as the system would need to be re-coded at short intervals. Lucki;ly I had a Netbook that had a cable socket but was unable to use my Tablet.

On arrival first impressions of the location were grim. Had difficulty finding the apartments. No name on the building only street address. Discovered the apartments are only on 3 floors of a high rise building. Reception only opens at certain times - security cards are used for front door, door to the floor you are on and then to your room. In general I did not really enjoy the stay - I felt a bit boxed in - on the 6th floor with no reception available if needed in an emergency.Being self catering however, it was convenient rather than always going out to eat.Once we got to know the area it felt better. Two supermarkets just down the road. Not a far walk to the train station - so catching the train into Hamburg was no problem. Parking for a small fee. Not a bad place to stay if you are aware that it is rather strange.

Ich war nun zum zweiten mal in diesem Hotel, Apartments und dieses mal war es sehr angenehm, bei meinem letzten besuch waren im Haus bauarbeiten, aber diese waren nun wohl abgeschlossen, es war sauber und ruhig, für meinen geschmack war das bett etwas zu hart und es hat bei jeder bewegung knarrende geräuche von sich gegeben, doch ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden

Check-In gut geklappt. Die Duschkabine war nicht ganz dicht, so lief das Wasser ins Bad und Apartment. Da tagsüber und am Wochenende die Rezeption nicht besetzt ist hab ichs telefonisch versucht, jedoch klappte das weiterleiten nicht... Also hab ich das Wasser kurzerhand selbst mit dem Bodentuch aufgesammelt... Die Zimmer haben alles was man braucht, man hält sich ja sowieso meist anderswo auf. Das Hotel liegt direkt an einer viel befahrenen Straße, von der man bei geschlossenem Fenster nichts hört. Selbstversorger haben einen Penny direkt um die Ecke. Das Frühstück gibts nur Samstag und Sonntag, man findet zwar alles um satt zu werden, die Auswahl könnte überdacht werden, es gab keinerlei Käse oder Frischkäse.
