Excellent location for a visit in Hamburg, right next to the Othmarschen S-Bahn station. Several old villas converted into a hotel with rooms of different sizes and styles.

This is an inexpensive hotel with perfect location. No bells, whistles of thrills, only clear and clean functionality. Will definitely stay again there on my next visit.

Fabulous location from which to explore Hamburg
Hotel Schmidt is located right next to the S1 subway stop, so you can get anywhere in Hamburg from this location. Located in four renovated private homes, Hotel Schmidt is a charming hotel, with an incredible spread each morning for breakfast. Lovely neighborhood with coffee shops, restaurants, a grocery store, clothing stores, etc.

Nice hote.
Nice hotel in a very pleasant residential neighborhood in Hamburg. Nice green streets. Very convenient for buses, S-Bahn to airport and DESY.

lovely boutique hotel located near rail line
It is a very quaint, almost Victorian hotel, located across the street from a rail station, from which you can get a direct train to the airport in 45 minutes for about $4. Several restaurants within sight, and a nice commercial street with little shops of all kinds. Also a block from a park, and au an fresco bar is next to the entrance. The only thing that was vexing was that the attendant didn't seem to understand, on two occasions, that when you have two guests, you need two keys when they are going their separate ways. They claimed there was only one key to the room, which we had. The attendant said that we had to take the key with us, which we of course did, but that didn't solve the problem when we were going our own way.

Decent hotel at a great location
Great little hotel in a very nice suburban neighborhood. Directly located at the train station it's only minutes from downtown. The room was fairly new and the bathroom modern, clean and functional. The WiFi is terrible, if you need to rely on it for business, I wouldn't recommend this place unfortunately. Breakfast buffet in a nice sun room with an excellent selection of typical Germany breakfast items.

Hotel Schmidt - Great location and area of Hamburg
We needed a room for the night and this hotel delivered. It wasn't the friendliest hotel that I have stayed, it felt like no-one was really interested in us being their. Decoration, carpets and ambience is dated, breakfast decent and plenty of choice. It did the job, would say that the price we paid was high for the quality of service that we received.

Old mansions tastefully converted into a pleasant hotel. Excellent location right next to the bahnhof, yet still remarkably quiet. Friendly, helpful staff and excellent breakfast.

Classic German hotel in a beautiful location
This hotel is not a standardised big international chain hotel, and that's why I like it! Sure it has some quirky things, and could use updating, but it is also far more of a real German experience and has a memorable charm because of that. The best bit of the hotel is the extremely smart and elegant neighbourhood its in. Close to the river, beautiful shops and cafes, and a train station right next door to whiz you to the centre if need be.

Man fühlt sich nicht willkommen. Zimmer nicht aufgeräumt. Glas und Handtuch gebraucht vom Gast zuvor. Es fehlten frische Handtücher. Der Müll war nicht geleert.Das Fenster nicht zu kippen, Tür schwer zu öffnen.
