STEP BACK IN TIME into our charming 1950's "grandma's cottage", a LIVING MUSEUM of a simpler era, before tvs, microwaves and computers. No WiFi, so UNPLUG and ENJOY the authentic vintage memorabilia and cosy fire.
WALK the beautiful Hari Hari Coastal Walkway or TAKE A DAY TRIP - 50 mins south to Glaciers, 50 mins north to Hokitika. EXPLORE natural HOT-SPRINGS within a short drive and walk or SOAK and STARGAZE in the cottage garden FIRE-BATH with stunning farm/bush/mountain views.

Heaps of classic books, board games, puzzles, and vintage dress-ups for those wet West Coast days.

Ok for one night stay
The bathroom access was from outside the house and due to mosquitoes and other insects, it was tough to use the bathroom. It would have been easier if the bathroom access was from inside the house. Even though we closed all windows after getting in the house, the mosquitoes made their way in every time someone went to use the bathroom.

Is exactly as it says, living in the 50ā€™s
Itā€™s an acquired taste, bed is comfortable and itā€™s as clean as it can be, ( as thereā€™s so much stuff, dolls, Knick- knacks) so if your looking for mod cons and clean lines, this is not for you, it has an outside bathroom, but totally undercover from the front door, so you wonā€™t get wet if it rains and sadly it did a lot during our stay, so we didnā€™t get to enjoy the area as much as weā€™d like. Kath and Dan were very welcoming

We went just looking for accommodation in the area and liked the fifties style idea. Unexpected bonuses were the choice of period costumes to dress in for dinner at the end of a fantastic day exploring, with a huge LP selection to play on the period gramophone and a fantastic log burner all wood chopped and dry.
