Grand View Lodge - Plenty of room for family and friends to get together

Grand View Lodge is conveniently located between Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. It is bright and spacious with three levels of gathering areas and bedrooms. The main level showcases spectacular views with vaulted ceilings and windows. The fireplace and wood floors add to the wonderful feel. The master bedroom, wrap-around porch and kitchen are also on this level. Exceptional craftsmanship is evident in the cabinets and woodwork.

The upper level gathering place is perfect for watching a movie together. The two bedroom reading nooks are great if you would rather grab some alone time with one of the books from the case. Feel free to take the book if you don’t finish and leave one of yours if you think it would be a great read for someone else.

The lower level offers a pool table, a music room with a piano, movie room with a 60" TV and a large gathering place for a board game, a puzzle, or a cozy visit by the wood burning stove. Spend a few minutes looking at the pictures of the winning racehorses. You may see us when we were much younger.

There have been family reunions, retreats, a group of bicyclists, and even a whole cross country team spend more than a few nights at the lodge. The 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and hide-a-bed upstairs makes sleeping 14 people quite comfortable. There are two additional futons if your party is even bigger. You won’t have to feel like it is wall-to-wall sleeping, because the gathering places and the large dining room table can accommodate the group.

Yes, Grand View Lodge earned its name by having pristine views of the meandering Sevier River, green meadows, and pink hues of the limestone cliffs. But there is also another reason. Did you know that the lodge faces most of the seventy miles of single track called “Grand View Trail”? This trail weaves through and over the ridges and canyons to the east. Our family has ran, hiked, and biked this for years. In fact our family has lived in the area for generations. If you look northeast from the lodge window, you will see “Wilson Peak” which is named after my great great grandfather.

This home was built to be enjoyed during any season by all that enter. We hope you feel like family as you spend your precious vacation time here.

Now, you may ask, “What else is there to do besides the main events of Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park that are relatively close to Grand View Lodge?”
The answer is: Have a picnic or morning coffee on the river deck.
Go fishing. The river runs through the property, so with a Utah State fishing license you can cast a fly or soak a worm. Panguitch Lake and Tropic Reservoir are within an hour drive and are great fishing locations as well.
Take a scenic drive. On the way to Bryce Canyon National Park, stop and spend some time at Red Canyon State Park. The Hoodoos and rock formations are amazing. Cedar Breaks National Monument is just a few miles off the road on the way to Cedar City, Utah. It has a Grand View Too!

Straddle a horse or ATV. There are a number of wranglers or ATV rental companies in the area that are wonderful. Let me know and I can give you some recommendations.

Let the sand get between your toes. Coral Pink Sand State Park is awe inspiring.
Watch the rodeo. Ruby’s has a fun little rodeo.

This is just the beginning. You will find so many fun things to do in this area, so come stay with us and most importantly find a little time to just relax.

Great house but website very misleading.
The house is great, although the picture on the website is very misleading, it is the back of the house, which makes it hard to find. This house is extremely HARD TO FIND in the little town of Hatch, Utah. The I reserved it through VRBO, but Family Time Vacation Rentals

Great house for a large group
We had a great time. The home was perfect for a large group. Short drives from Bryce and Zion National Parks. A few small issues were addressed and solved by our contact person. We cooked all our meals at the house and saved a bunch of money. Poool table downstairs and two comfortable living room areas. Porch was great for watching sunrise/ sunset.

Great space!
We stayed here for a family reunion. There were plenty of beds and clean linens. The host responded promptly to all of my questions. The space was clean and beautiful! The views were amazing and there are almost no neighbors so the kids could run in the backyard without bothering anyone. We were only 30 minutes from Bryce Canyon. We would stay here again!

Bryce getaway
The amount of bedrooms to bathrooms was perfect. Whoever designed this cabin really thought through the layout for a family. Having a bathroom on every floor was huge! The tv situation could have been improved. The tv upstairs didn’t have a remote. Due to the loft, noise from downstairs echoed upstairs. Having speakers close to the wall we were sitting on would have been nice. The toilet on the main floor was having issues holding water in the tank. Talk about a dumb and dumber experience trying to flush and not being able to get the log down the toilet. We ran out of trash bags which is a big deal when you have so many people in one space. The river out back was awesome! The mattresses had worn spots in them which made uncomfortable. The pull out bed in the loft was absolutely terrible. We took it out and the frame work was bent. It took 10-15 minutes to get it back into the frame. Sitting on the couch with the pullout bed was very uncomfortable so the floor was the choice of option. I realize that an email was sent reminding us to double check everything when we left. With such a large group something is most likely going to be left behind. I did leave behind two hiking backpacks on accident. I called right when I got home and realized. I still haven’t heard back from them on whether the cleaning company found them or not. I know exactly where they were. It makes me not want to rent this property again knowing that the property management company doesn’t seem to care.

Wonderful weekend getaway at Bryce Canyon
The house was easy to find, had a beautiful location and view, and comfortable living arrangements for our group. The check in process was seamless. We enjoyed the wrap around porch and backyard area, as well as the firepit. The bedrooms and bathrooms were plentiful and comfortable. Will be back!

Misrepresented
Property was in a very odd location behind what looks like a junk yard. Property is in need of maint and cleaning. Coms with property manager was great until I actually needed something then I got ghosted. All and all a bad experience. I am usually very happy with my VRBO rentals as I can only say two out of twenty I did not enjoy and this was one of them

Overcharged and underwhelmed
The property management company provided us with an incorrect door code on the day of our arrival and they were unavailable to resolve the issue. Happily a historical code did seem to work after we discovered it. The property was reasonably clean when we arrived but the grill was a mess. Location was good. The house was in OK shape. Unfortunately the property management company overcharged our stay by about a third vs. quote. Now disputing. This is my first bad experience with VRBO, I'm sad to say.

Great property
The house was large enough for our family of 11 and well equipped. The view from the back of the house with the mountains and the river was just beautiful. The view from the front is not very desirable but once you are in the house you do not notice. Location to Bryce is ideal. I would recommend, you will not be disappointed.

Huge disappointment!
We arrived at 8 pm. The code provided would not open the door. We tried many times......different people, with check, with asterisk. Nothing worked. We called the number provided and were directed to a mailbox that was full. Then we texted number provided was waited for an hour. We went into Panguitch and rented four motel rooms. After we were in bed at the motel text was returned offering to send alternate code. Too late! Next day contacted by maintenance man with different code. Entered to find Downstairs bathroom with holes punched in the ceiling and drywall dust and mouse dirt all over the floor and sink top, counter and john. We cleaned this ourselves. Maintenance called at 3 pm to say they were coming to clean mess in bathroom but didn’t come when told we had already done it. Expect reimbursement of half of our fee for two nights plus rooms at Days Inn. After 8 days no word from company about how they will make this right.

Family Reunion Fun
This was the perfect location for the overflow of family members who came to our family reunion. Our family owns the ranch northeast of this rental. 20 of our 47 “Heaps” stayed in the lodge. It was convent, and so beautiful! We appreciated having toiletries provided, and the home and yard were well maintained and enjoyable. We have used VRBO for many reunions and trips. This was our favorite location, admitting our pink cliff and meandering river bias. Thank you for helping us enjoy our family time together.

A good rental for large groups
My family of nineteen (14 adults and 5 children under 5) stayed for six days. The room set-up worked sufficiently for us, but as mentioned in another review, the sofa bed upstairs was broken. It's a nice house with good space for large groups. However, they could use a little more upkeep. The grill only had half a grill plate that remained late and as mentioned, the sofa bed was broken. Those are small things though compared to what the house offered. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Communication was great; when we had a wi-fi issue when we first arrived, I sent a text and received a nearly immediate response and the situation was remedied (it was actually with the provider, not the house router). The management company followed up multiple times throughout the week to make sure all way okay. The house is also in a good location to explore multiple areas. We had to drive each day, but it was centrally located to the attractions.

Nice home close to Red Canyon and Bryce Canyon
Overall the home was good. It was clean and well appointed. The check in/out process was very simple. The view from the back porch was amazing! We saw many deer come through at dusk. Saying the house sleeps 24 is a stretch. We found it difficult to sleep our group bc the second floor sofa bed was broken. Also, the home desperately needs a 4th bathroom and a good tankless water heater. We found ourselves waiting to take showers and running out of hot water. Also, all the tips of the pool sticks were broken except one so we really didn’t use the table. Those few item aside, Grand view lodge did not disappoint. We enjoyed our stay. We would return if in the area again!

Great property for a large group!
This place is great for a large group! We had multiple generations and households joining together for this trip and this property accommodated all! My 80 year old handicapped father was able to avoid the stairs and live primarily on the main floor where the kitchen and master bedroom / bathroom are - this was also the main area that the family hung out together. Then the younger families slept downstairs with the kids in the bunk beds and the older groups were up on the third level and had their peace and quiet. We found a pack n play and a highchair in the coat closet, which was much appreciated as we had our 20 month old son with us. There are three levels of stairs inside, so luckily we brought two baby gates with us, which helped contain the 20 month old some. Theres a pool table down stairs and lots of couches and TVs! The back yard is mostly fenced, though not completely enclosed, so we still had to keep an eye on the young kiddos as they kept trying to escape... but the little creak was just a short walk behind the property and fun to spend time at. We spent one day at Zion and one day at Bryce Canyon and this property is pretty much in between the two, so perfect location. Plus the views from this property are amazing! We plan to come back and stay here again!
