One Tree Hill Lockie's Lookout - Wilson's Prom / Sea Views

Lockie’s Lookout sits on the very top of a grassy hill, 2.5 kilometres as the eagle flies from Corner inlet with a landmark cypress tree and an unforgettable 360° panorama across Corner Inlet, Wilsons Promontory, Bass Strait, the Strzelecki Ranges and lush South Gippsland grazing country. The property offers private, elegant and comfortable fully self-contained accommodation for up to six people.

Lockie’s Lookout’s main lounge is combined with a dining area, overlooked by a fully equipped galley-style kitchen. The space features walls of glass and a main deck overlooking the sea and the mountains, a wood heater, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and flat screen television with CD and DVD player.

The house features two queen bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom including a bath. There is also a rumpus room with a queen bed and centrally located second bathroom. Each room opens onto the main deck and alll beds are fitted with electric blankets.

There is also a compact European laundry, with an automatic front-loading washing machine and dryer.

Lockie’s Lookout is a new-wave retreat that's perfect for couples, groups of friends and families all year 'round. Walk to Agnes Falls, visit the Port Weshpool jetty, ride your bike on the historical South Gippland Rail Trail, explore the beaches of Wilsons Promontory or simply stare at the ever changing view.

Picturesque farm stay
What a fantastic farm stay, not too far from Melbourne with the most amazing views. My daughters had a wonderful time, our dog enjoyed running in the fresh air. It was the perfect mini escape for our family. Thanks for having us John.

It was unique to be staying on the top of a hill in the middle of a field. We could hear birds singing and we had a great view of Corner Inlet and Wilsons Promontory. The sea breezes travelled up the hill and through the windows to cool down the accommodation. On a windy day the breezes made noises as they blew around the accommodation.

Under Par
Although the owner was very friendly and obliging for the nightly price the actual accommodation was very poor. Summary as follows ~ Lawns were not mowed ~ work on property unfinished (eg. deck) ~ dead flies everywhere in house, including bath. ~ in 1st toilet there was a Unflushed feces ~ hot water a nightmare in second bathroom (as in tap running for 10 minutes and still stone cold), yet they want you to be water wise! ~ views non existent because of fog ( understand this is no ones fault, but disappointing) ~ was left with one fire lighter, yes one 2cm long fire lighter to get the fire going. ~ door handle fell off ~old and out dated inside ~ having to open and close gates in poring rain was a pain. ~ having to supply my own linen I felt was incredibly stingy when paying the amount i did a night and also with a lot of other things just not up to scratch. For what you got it well and truly over priced and one would think that perhaps an hour or two before check in that the owner would check that the property was up to speed. It felt like no one had cleaned it for weeks. Unfortunately the weather was lousy ( which is no ones fault) but that added to deterioration of rating this property being favorable. There where no views to see as the fog gave visibility of about 30 meters into farm land. All in all very very disappointing. I booked for three nights and left after one night and came home, costing me a fortune in wasted accommodation. 2/10. Would not recommend and would not go back. On a positive note the owner John always answered texts/ ph calls and was very nice. He just needs to put some time and love into this property as it’s extremely over priced for what u get., and there's a hell of a lot you don't get that should be included.

Amazing holiday stay with fantastic views
Though we've already had an impression of what we would be going to see when we made the booking , we were still stunned by the magnificent views on arrival. The property has been maintained well and has most of the amenities we need during our two days stay. In the morning, you would wake up with those incredible scenes and lovely and well behaved neighbours (cows:)) so close to your bed. It made us forget the hustles and bustles of the city and fully enjoy moments of serenity and relaxation. Agnes Waterfall is very closeby and easy to reach. John is such a nice host and he told us that he has been working hard to make NBN connected to the property which hopefully will bring more convenience for people who will stay there for days. Thanks much for providing such a lovely holiday home for us.

Disappointing stay at Eagles Nest
Very disappointed despite amazing view (160 degree view NOT 360 degree) after staying at original house in 2012 and loving it. The owner did mention that we were not staying in the newest house (Lochie’s Lookout) but at the original property which I presumed was the one we stayed at in 2012. Only when we arrrived did we find that he wasn’t talking about the original property but the 2nd one built. When we arrived there was a strong fishy/damp smell which lasted for our stay. No comment about this from owner despite us notifying him immediately nor did he sound surprised which made me feel that it might be an ongoing problem with the property. Despite paying extra for bed linen before arrival, fresh linen was not supplied. We were directed to the emergency linen (sheets and towels) which was damp and screwed up in a plastic bag on a top shelf of cupboard. Had to dry it ourselves with no offer of refund. One mattress protector had stains on it with no offer to replace it by owner after notifying him. Actual mattresses seemed clean and were very comfortable. House needed a better clean throughout, ie green mould in corner of ensuite shower, dirty shelves in kitchen etc. Decor was very basic and underwhelming with unmatched old (not talking vintage and quaint) crockery and linen, and bedding that looked past it’s use by date for a rental property standard. Decor is a first world problem I agree but when we pay a healthy price for accommodation we have fair expectations of a reasonable level of quality. Overall the accommodation was pretty disappointing.

Spectacular Views in Converted Shipping Container Comfort
What an amazing property with fantastic views. You could sit and stare at the views all day. The shipping container has been converted very well and makes good use of the space and also to take advantage of the view. Our neighbours were sheep and cows and very well behaved. John was a great host, very friendly and helpful when we had trouble starting the fire. Would definitely recommend.

Outstanding views!
We had a wonderful stay at Lochie’s Lookout. Was incredible watching an electrical storm out at sea from the warmth of the bath (I’d recommend bringing some bubble bath!). My 2 year old son loved waking up to the sheep and cows who would come to visit. I forgot what silence sounded like! It feels off the beaten track but still near civilisation. There’s a great cafe with pizza between the accomodation and Wilson’s Prom that has good coffee. And a waterfall nearby that’s only a short walk once you’ve parked the car.

Amazing place!
We had bad luck with rainy weather but it made no difference as the fireplace and huge windows made it possible for us to enjoy the amazing scenery while being warm and cozy. Would definitely go again!

Very nice and beautiful property.
We stayed with kids and traveled to Agnes in the summer. It was very hot and there were plenty of flies around the area. The property is very nicely positioned with great views. Lockie provided very clear instructions on getting to the property as well. Overall I would recommend staying in this properly.

Cosy and Warm
Was more spacious than i thought for 2 containers joined together. was very toasty and warm inside considering how low the temp got outside. just needs a few little extras like tea towels, a bin, and a dish rack. Otherwise, very comfortable. We all enjoyed the amazing views and walks through the fields with the sheep and cows.
