The hotel has an excellent location. And it has excellent staff in the hotel and the restaurant. We travel extensively and frequently in Canada and Europe and we see MANY hotels. It is however getting very dated in the rooms. The towels are uniformly terrible - VERY hard. The bed and the night table beside the bed are dated and badly damaged. The makeup mirror is located very high on the wall. As my wife says, "it is not made for a modern woman."

The big plus is the location which is great for late arrivals and early departures. The room was styled euro-modern-cheap with exposed concrete, sharp lines, a few wood accents, painted grey ceilings, and euro toilet. The result is a room that feels a little cold and soulless, has areas in the room with shadows, but has all the well thought out amenities you need including a great bed, desk with ports to project to the TV, Nespresso, free wifi, and great shower.

Great for early/late flights, very comfortable and efficient rooms. Great design and comfy bed and sheets and had a nice smoking area.I enjoyed the pool and the beef bolognese and lemon curd cheesecake from the restaurant. Very convenient dropping off the rental car and getting to my gate from this hotel. Fridge and espresso machine in the room, and they don't charge for the pods.

Alt is the only Halifax Airport hotel directly linked to the terminal so is convenient. I would call the room “gimmicky “. Poor lighting, a bathroom with a shower that didn’t work very well, and an annoying bathroom door (not a regular door — just two wooden panels that were to come together in the middle) that didn’t close properly or easily and was very noisy when used in the night. All at a premium price. I would not stay there again.

We got to the hotel, and the pizza oven in the restaurant wasn’t working so they had to close the restaurant. But the front desk staff was good at recommending another place to eat We got to our room, and it was very warm. 24°… thermostat was set to 18°. Asked to be switched. And we were. No problem.
