This 2 bedroom cabin with an expansive living/sleeping loft accommodates up to 8 guests. Decorated to blend the best of the old and the new, you'll find plenty of space to relax both indoors and out. Watch the sunrise with your morning coffee as you lazily swing on the enclosed porch running the full length of the house. Or dine at twilight at the other end of this spacious screened-in porch. And anyone can enjoy this lovely cabin with its handicap ramp gently sloping to the front door.

The Laurel has a king-size bed in the master bedroom located on the main floor with a queen-size bed in the upstairs bedroom. Two bunkbeds (one with a full-size lower bed) are found in the loft. Large bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs easily accommodate all our guests.

Nestled among native mountain laurels, The Laurel is .3 mile off the main road, offering a peaceful experience in a woodland setting. This cabin is located only 15 minutes from downtown Dahlonega, enabling you to enjoy everything this historic town has to offer: the Dahlonega Gold Museum, gold mining, festivals, ghost tours, a vibrant night life, arts and crafts, charming shops, a variety of restaurants, plus concerts and other cultural offerings on the campus of The University of North Georgia.

Attending a wedding at one of the nearby wedding venues? The Laurel is perfect for your wedding party or guests! Or perhaps you would like to tour the many nearby wineries or taste the wares at the local meadery.

Or enjoy the Appalachian experience. Survey the cabin's mountain views during the late fall through early spring. Then move outside to stroll through the forest along our long gravel drive. Perhaps you'd like to fish in the nearby stocked streams, hike the Chattahoochee National Forest, travel the mountain bike or ATV trails, or visit the many neighboring waterfalls. Travel on Cooper's Gap Road along the mountain ridge to Suches, GA and scan the stunning mountain views, or catch the beginning of the Appalachian Trail at Amicalola Falls.

This was my favorite place I've ever stayed at. Secluded, quiet, and it gets dark at night. Just close enough to town and Monteluce Winery to go for dinner if you want. Close to mountain trails for biking, riding, and a nice drive.

Family time
We were in town for a wedding in Atlanta and decided we would chill with the family a few days in the North Georgia mountains before going home our separate ways. We were very pleased with the cabin. It had everything you could think of to prepare meals and be very comfortable. It was over the top with thoughtful extras. My son has a 1 year old and a three year old and it was perfect for the children. We would definitely stay there again or recommend the cabin to our friends in Atlanta.

I tell you the pictures don’t do this property justice. It’s adorable in the pictures but when you walk in there’s such a cozy feeling. There is anything you could ever need. Excellent mattresses and linens. The views are so pretty from every window. The property is secluded but close enough to restaurants and downtown. We will be booking again for sure! Thank you!

The cabin and property exceeded all expectations. Extremely clean with a fantastic wrap around porch. I would recommend The Laurel to anyone looking to relax and have have all the advantages of Dahlonega with the wineries within a short drive.

The cabin was beyond our expectation. It is in a beautiful setting that feels remote but is close to downtown and the many wineries in the area. (Cavender Creek, Kaya, Three Sisters and Montaluce were wonderful. Save plenty of time to linger on the terraces at Wolf Mountain, absolutely stunning) The decor is soothing and tastefully done, the beds were so comfortable and the cabin itself feels very cozy. I stay in a lot of VRBOs, and I am amazed that Barbara has thought of so many things to make the stay perfect. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect retreat
This property was the perfect retreat for my family. We needed a break and the cabin was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the most well-stocked property i which I have ever stayed. Beautiful cabin!
We absolutely loved our stay at The Laurel. The cabin is clean, beautiful, and well appointed. Not once did we need something that Barbara hadn’t provided! She truly thought of every little detail to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The fall leaves were almost at peak, so we made extensive use of the screened porch and didn’t leave the cabin all weekend. This is one of the best rental properties any of us have ever stayed in. We hope to return often! Thank you, Barbara, for sharing your lovely home with us.

Everything about this cabin was beyond our expectations. It is a beautiful cabin in a quiet setting and was the cleanest, most organized place we’ve stayed in. Just about everything you need is provided. The owner thought of every detail and we appreciated it very much. She had all supplies and added special touches like chocolates and a snack basket upon our arrival. She provides paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner and plenty of towels. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The back porch was where we spent most of our time. There is a swing, fire pit and chairs and a nice, large table for dinners. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Visited during heat wave in oh-so comfortable cabin in quiet woods just outside charming Dahlonega. Stayed cool! Barely used the A/C, and imagine that would be the same with a cozy fire! Loved the porch. Very very well equipped kitchen. (Do make sure you understand that the loft bedroom is open to downstairs.)

Its like staying at a good friends home. Cozy, homey, with everything you need. Set up so you can intuitively find everything. Snacks and extra touches left for you upon arrival making it feel like you are cared for. Would definitively stay at this property again if I was coming to the area.
