The hotel has potential to be great, but it’s not well maintained. The room didn’t feel clean, and the bathroom was in poor condition, with noticeable drywall repairs needed in both areas. It’s clear the hotel was once very nice, but it’s in need of a renovation. On the positive side, the staff were fantastic—welcoming, professional, and friendly, including the team at the elevators. The location is excellent, and having two restaurants attached was a highlight. I appreciated the charming old New York feel, but I wouldn’t stay here again unless renovations were made.

We loved The New Yorker. Everyone was so nice, especially the doorman and the gentlemen checking room keys. We felt very safe. It is conveniently located with two restaurants Inside the hotel. We will be staying here again.

Frigid room

The windows were very drafty to the point where I had to keep the drapes in the room closed. I also had to keep the bathroom door closed because there was such a draft that the bathroom was extremely cold to the point in which there was ice on the windowsills.

Reasonable for NYC on price. My TV wasn’t working and they seemed understaffed on help as it took almost an hour for someone to come by. He was great and helpful, but needed a TV replacement which they took care of the next day (they offered that night but I requested the next day while I was out as it was later in the evening). Vents were very dusty, especially in the bathroom where moisture probably makes the dust stick more. Looked like a year’s worth of build up above the shower. Workout facilities for NYC were top notch! Great location, good value, but not hitting a home run for sure.

The staff was tremendous from check in to check out. The housekeepers were super friendly and really helpful, honestly they always put a smile on my face. The room we stayed in had a wonderful view and atmosphere and it was near so many restaurants and just a few blocks from Times Square. When you want something with a great view, a convenience store and AMC on the corner on top of it being right across the street from Madison Square Garden, and a subway station right next to the hotel, this is the perfect place to stay. It’s a little on the older side but it’s authentic and somewhat affordable. Would love to stay again, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful time.

Great room service and assistance from the maids on the 29th floor. I was I'll during my stay and the maids were very helpful providing fresh linens as needed.

The property is close to the subway. However , the bathroom was not very clean. Very old peeling pain on the doors. Towels with yellow stains. Felt unclean. They charge fees for everything family fee ?? And even a hee to hold your bags / per bag, all un necessary e tra fees for an overpriced dirtt hotel room. Will not return or recommend.
