Overall, this Embassy Suites, Herndon, VA, was a satisfactory stay. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite in a corner on the third floor. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked, thankfully. The furniture in the living room was worn out and torn, in dire need of replacement. It is obviously an older property that management has neglected to maintain properly for the sake of profitability. I was disappointed considering it is a Hilton property. I used to think more highly about Hilton properties, but will reconsider future stays.

The shuttle never showed up at the airport even after we called to get information about where to wait and let them know we were there. The room was dingy and it didn’t look like the sheets on the sofa bed had been cleaned.

I don’t usually like to write bad reviews or any reviews much for that matter, but feel compelled to comment on our stay at this Embassy Suites on this occasion. We have been loyal customers of this Embassy Suites for years, and have stayed there on many occasions on our way to and back from foreign postings. We like that it’s close to Dulles and spacious enough to accommodate a family of five and a lot of luggage. This will likely be our last stay there, however, due to the poor condition of the room and service. Our room (room 209) was in atrocious condition. The first thing I noted was a general musty smell that smelled like trying to cover up smoke smells. I then began to notice that the bathroom was not very clean—there were hairs around and it just didn’t feel very thoroughly cleaned. I also discovered some dried rice on the wet bar sink, which again felt like a poor cleaning job. We next discovered that the shower faucet was completely broken and you had to really wrestle with it to get the water on and off. Perhaps worst of all, the chair and couch in the room were filthy and stained, and the couch was completely sprung, leaving you feeling like you were sitting in a hole. Because we arrived late (it was past 10 pm and had 15 suitcases and bags) and had been traveling for more than 24 hours, I opted to just stay in the room rather than ask for a change. It was a disappointing stay, however, and put me off from wanting to stay there again.

The hotel for the price was fantastic! The happy hour and food at the happy hour was more than we expected for a free option. Free breakfast was great with option to orde different type of eggs including omelets. The only bad thing and I hope was a temporary thing is that they were under staffed st the restaurant and bar, food took for ever to come out and there were no servers. There are no restaurants outside the hotel walking distance.

Disappointing
Room was clearly not cleaned properly. (Used soap bar left in the shower, hair on the sink, etc.) The staff member at the front desk was accommodating, and very understanding. We were given a new room that was cleaner, but apparently the fridge didn't work and all our food ended up spoiling. The sofa bed and furniture were filthy and stained. Left with what appears to be bug bites. We were too tired, after arriving to Dulles and just wanted to sleep. The cook to order breakfast was good, which is why I normally book embassy suites but everything else was just disappointing.
