About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

TWO BEDROOMS ON MAIN, ONE IS MASTER- ENJOY A UNQUE EXPERIENCE IN OUR HOME.

THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE CABIN!!! Perched high on a hillside, with endless mountaintop views, you’ll wonder if you’ve climbed a stairway to Heaven or has Heaven come down to meet you. Perhaps the answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind. Located just 10 minutes from town, the lavishly appointed, cedar sided, lodge style home is convenient to shopping, dining, churches, medical facilities and entertainment, but if it’s privacy you seek, you’ll be on your own like a rolling stone. It’s the perfect place to experience cool autumn nights, crisp sunny days and all the splendor of fall colors. You’ll enjoy brisk evenings out on the covered porch, sipping a warm beverage, snuggled up in comfy rockers by the huge outdoor wood-burning fireplace, where you’ll be making precious memories to last a lifetime. It’s hurricane season in the south anyway, so don’t be a sad-eyed lady of the lowlands, come on up and let us give you shelter from the storm. A Family Friendly Floor Plan!: This luxury 7 bedroom, 3 ½ bath home comfortably sleeps up to 16 with a King Sized Master Suite on the main level as well as a smaller bedroom with a full bed and full bath. ***N0TE***Area over Garage, door connects to the loft area, with 3 separate bedrooms and bath. All bedrooms are very spacious with ample closets and a view from every room. Beds are very comfortable. Huge master bath with jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. Travertine tile. 2 Separate vanities for guests. Full bath upstairs with tub and shower. The great room has cathedral ceilings with windows all around to enjoy the view and an inviting seating area centered around a massive stone gas log fireplace, flanked by a 65" flat screen HD/TV. The dining area with antique farm table seats eight and the enviable, fully equipped kitchen is offset by a large stone island which seats another 2 or 3 guests. Upstairs, there’s an open loft area with game table, seating and plenty of games, perfect for rainy day people of all ages. Down the hall is another Queen sized bedroom, full bath and a huge “Bunk room” with two traditional bunk beds and a Queen sized bed as well. This bedroom sleeps up to 6 comfortably. Kick Back & Relax or Get Out & Have Some Fun!: Professionally decorated and embellished throughout with tasteful rustic antiques, folk art, furnishings and memorabilia, you’ll find the home lacking nothing in comfort and convenience. All too soon, however, you’ll have to hit that endless highway and be on the road again, but don’t think twice; it’s alright – we’ll be here for you when you return, so never say goodbye. Just 10 minutes from pristine Lake Chatuge, it's just a short drive to either of 3 local marinas where you can rent boats, canoes, kayaks, Pontoons or jet skis for a day of fun on the water. Families with small children will love the little white sandy beach area with playground, tennis courts, boat launch and picnic area. And of course, there's the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival at the fairgrounds, located just minutes from town and your cabin. Check out their website to see which of your favorite performers will be appearing in concert while you're here as well. Places To Go - Things To See & Lots To Do!: Within a relatively short driving distance you'll find all kinds of activities and attractions with something for everyone. There are hiking trails and at least 5 waterfalls that are well worth going out of your way to see. There's Horseback Riding at the new Brasstown Stables, Fishing, White Water Rafting, 'Grubbing for Gems' & Panning for Gold in nearby Dahlonega, and if you have little ones, be sure to visit the Birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Dolls, just outside of Cleveland. Of course you wouldn't want to miss a visit to the Alpine village of Helen, just 25 minutes away, where you can find something for everyone. There are street performers, dancing, fun and activities for the whole family, along with an interesting array of little shops and great restaurants. Go tubing on the river that goes right through the heart of town or take a ride in the tram for a truly unique tour of the village.

Excellent Cabin away from it all
Gorgeous fuse from this cabin. Steep driveways but if you can get over that it's worth it. Sitting out on the porch and the outside fireplace gathered with family was an excellent getaway.

FALL FAMILY ESCAPE
Our little family of 11 gathered for some much needed down time. The home was welcoming and room for us all! We love cooking so many meals were enjoyed. Nights on the porch were awesome. Helene the Hurricaine tried to dampen our spirits. However not a problem to be had. Thank you for such a wonderful space to enjoy family time!

Peaceful Stay
Wonderful space to relax and spend time with friends! We had most of what we needed to cook our meals in the expansive kitchen! Three of us worked comfortably to prepare our big meal. Comfy beds, good water pressure, incredible view! Our host was very responsive and helpful with any concerns or questions we had. The only suggestion for improvement I have is to secure the rug corners better. Several people tripped up on them in different rooms because the corners flip over very easily. Thank you for a great stay!

Big House for a Crowd
We enjoyed this property very much! It was very spacious and well-stocked for all our needs. Everyone in our party got their own room. There was also wonderful places for us to gather together and watch a movie or play games. It is conveniently located near Lake Chatuge, where we spent most of our time, as there’s plenty to do there. Our only disappointment was that I had told my teens that the place where we were staying had a pool table and a hot tub. The pool table was a miniature one, so my teens didn’t really play it. And the hot tub ended up being a misprint. The addition of those two things would’ve made it all the better, but we had a great time around Hiawasee. We hiked Anna Ruby Falls, and I highly recommend that. We also drove over to Helen and walked the Alpine Village. And we rented jet skis and had fun on the lake. It was a great trip!

Magnificent Mountain Retreat
This cabin was absolutely perfect. Spacious yet cozy with plenty of open common space and lots of rooms for private space. We traveled with 10 adults, 5 kids, and 1 dog and had plenty of room. The cabin was in a secluded location but still close to amenities, sites, and entertainment. The views from the massive porch were breathtaking. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time.

Family getaway
Our family of 6 adults and 5 children (14, 12, 10, 9, 4) loved the space and the beauty of the surroundings. The huge wrap around porch with plenty of seating for enjoying the view across the valley and the wood-burning fireplace on the porch was great for reading and cooking s'mores. The inside kitchen was roomy and well equipped to permit cooking for 11 with a huge pantry area for storage of coolers and boxes -- we nicknamed it the Narnia cupboard. Internet access was superb and allowed everyone to do things on their devices without issue. Within 30 minutes of multiple great attractions and 10 minutes to a full size supermarket. The host was very responsive and answered all question.

Reunion of old friends
Our group of 8 old friends held our annual reunion weekend at this property in March. It was a very pleasant stay, the highlight being sitting on the covered deck in front of the outdoor fireplace and taking in the excellent views. The furniture inside of the house was comfortable, and the interior was decorated in an interesting mountain theme manner with lots of antiques. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. Wi-fi worked well. Our cell phones worked OK after we connected them through the wi-fi. (Note, cell phone coverage is spotty in the whole area around Hiawassee.) In general, we liked the property, although we have a few suggestions for improvement: Some of the bedrooms lacked curtains or blinds. We could not find the major networks on the TV, it looked like there was no cable service, only a Samsung service and some streaming apps. Not a big deal to us, but maybe to others. (Consider posting a guide the TV services). The bedroom situation in the loft over the garage was a bit unusual, you had to go through the twin-beds bedroom to get to the other 2 queen bedrooms in the loft. The portable electric tower heater was not working. Some other reviews have commented on the steep driveway. Yes it's steep, but we found it to be no problem, even though it was raining when we first arrived. Just shift into low and put your foot down! All in all, we found it to be a nice property and we had a great weekend there.

The property was pretty. The house was beautiful. The kitchen was very well stocked with pretty much of anything you need to cook with. The driveway was a little steep, but wasn’t a issue since we didn’t get snow. Parking was a tight fit, but we did just fine. All in all, we had a great stay and would stay there again.

Perfect Family Getaway
The property sits up above the valley with a beautiful view. Our first 2 days the weather was a little wet but the morning view of the low clouds across the valley was stunning. The deck wraps around from the side to the back and has both a great place for reading in a rocking chair of fellowshipping around the fireplace.

Our group of 12 + a baby (4 couples and 4 individuals) rang in the New Years at this beautiful cabin! My group does an annual NYE cabin weekend and we try to change states ever year. We may just find ourselves being in GA again just because of how much we liked this cabin. It sleeps 16 so our group of 12 was very comfortable. - The cabin was beautifully decorated. - The kitchen was well stocked - crockpot, pans, knives, seasonings, cooking oil. - The master bed was memory foam so firm but comfortable, the twin beds were a little uncomfortable but the rest of the rooms were just fine. - The driveway held 5 cars without having to double park so I'm not sure why people had a hard time parking 4! *Most importantly to us were that the walls were THICK and sound didn't travel since we had a baby. The baby had no issues in her bedroom with the doors closed. We could barely hear her if she was crying and most importantly, she slept through all the shenanigans that a group of 12x 30 year olds could bring. The views from the deck were amazing. That deck gave us plenty of room to have that morning coffee with mountain views and turned easily into an evening dance floor with a warm fire. This property exceeded our expectations. Thanks you Carol for giving us a great start to a promising year.

Such an incredible view, some things to be aware of
Want to be very clear up front, LOVED our stay at this mountain home - the view in Fall while the leaves changed for our weeklong stay was top notch. We also had a member of our crew with a telescope and it the ability to see a gorgeous clear sky so many nights was magical. I would definitely stay here again. There are some things I wish I knew going in but by no means should deter anyone considering staying here! We came in 6 cars and that truly felt like an absolute parking limit that many would find uncomfortable for turning space at the top of a steep mountain. The owners recommend 4 but it's just not practical to pack that many people and luggage in 4 vehicles. Technically a big bath tub with jets is definitely a hot tub, but I somehow imagined that listing to mean big group outdoor hot tub. Also you have to cross the master bedroom to use it. Check-out requires you start a load of laundry, but the house did not stock any detergent. Would be nice to have some complimentary on hand. Also garbage bags (a hard set 3) and toilet paper were in short supply. The kitchen garbage was awkwardly small so we wasted many bags since you couldn't fill it fully. Tall can would help. The fridge does not hold a week's worth of food for a large party. Thankfully the grocery store is nearby (12 minute drive) just don't plan to load up for the week in one go. It really was nice though! Don't let this turn you away from an amazing view and comfortable stay, just come prepared!
