The Farmhouse of Unity Ohio is located in the heart of Adams County Amish Country. Sit on the porch and watch the Amish buggies go by. Three bedrooms, two baths and a fire pit under the stars. Sleeps 8 Great for family getaways. Hunt world class white tail deer, admire the talent of local craftsman and artists, find treasures at antique shops, enjoy delicious food from a variety of dining options or showcase your culinary skills in the farmhouse's full kitchen or outdoor pavilion with a gas grill and food prep area.
The Farmhouse is settled in a quiet community so we ask that you mind your noise levels after 10:00 p.m. Although we can accommodate a larger number of guests, and we welcome pre-approved family gatherings, we ask that you do not have parties or events.
The Farmhouse is non-smoking.
The fire pit has 4 Adirondack chairs and firewood is provided, stacked in the pavilion.
Hunters and Fishermen enjoy staying at The Farmhouse, we ask that if your gear is wet/muddy, use the hooks and the building in the pavilion to let things dry out. This is also great for airing the scent out before you hunt! No discharge of firearms/archery, etc. on the property.
The Farmhouse does not have Wi-Fi or a land line, however, most major cell carriers can get service. We strongly suggest checking the service coverage map with your specific carrier. There is a TV in the Living Room with DirectTV service.
The kitchen in The Farmhouse is equipped with glasses, place setting for 8, kitchen utensils, grilling utensils, pots and pans, baking dishes, blender, hand mixer, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer combo. Basic spices, coffee creamer, some basic condiments are available.
The hall closet is stocked with extra bed linens, towels, washcloths and hair dryers. Both bathrooms offer shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is a washer and dryer in the laundry room with detergent and softener as well as additional trash bags, toilet paper and paper towel for guests staying an extended time.

Hiking
Adams Lake State Park & Nature Preserve has 2 short loop trails for easy hikes. The Prairie Dock trail features one of many prairie openings in Adams County. The Post Oak trail goes through an oak-hickory forest. 14633 St Rt 41, West Union, OH 45693 Just 12 minutes from The Farmhouse.
Chaparral Prairie State Nature Preserve is a cedar barren prairie with post and blackjack oak. Summer shows off wildflowers and butterflies. Eleven state-listed species are recorded from this location. The Hawk Loop trail is ¾ mile and considered an easy hike. Davis Memorial State Nature Preserve is an 88-acre nature preserve featuring a geologic fault, dolomite cliffs, a cave, and many types of plants. Beautiful in Spring for wildflowers. There are 2 loop trails approximately 1/2 mile each, connecting with the Buckeye Trail for a total of 2 miles of hiking. Good year round easy to moderate hiking. 2715 Davis Memorial Rd. Edge of Appalachia Nature Preserve is Ohio’s largest privately owned protected natural area of 18,000 acres with forest, prairies, waterfalls, gorges, and mountains, containing over 100 rare species of plants and animals. Featuring landmarks like, Lynx Prairie, Buzzardroost Rock, Red Rock and the Wilderness. There are 4 marked and well maintained hiking trails open to the public. Lynx Prairie Trail is 1.6 mile round loop easy trail, best viewed in late summer when the prairie is blooming. Wilderness Trail is 2.5 mile loop moderate hike trail. Features an unbroken forest with limestone cliffs and over 50 rare plants and flowers. A good spring and fall hike. The most popular hike in Adams County is Buzzardroost Rock Trail. A 4.5-mile round-trip strenuous trail to Buzzardroost Rock, a spectacular view of Brush Creek Valley at the trails end. Spring wildflowers, fall colors, and during winter, the surrounding landscape lays bare all its unique geological features for everyone to see include the nearby Tiffin cliffs. Shawnee State Forest, nicknamed “The Little Smokies” located along the border of Adams & Scioto Counties and has many quiet gravel roads - excellent for mountain bike trips. There are several hiking trails including a section of the North County Trail that goes through the Shawnee Wilderness Area. The Buckhorn trail, a 7 mile bridle & hiking trail takes hikers into the heart of the wilderness area. The Cabbage Patch Trail also leads into the interior of the wilderness area can be accessed off Lower Twin Creek Road. The trails range from moderate to strenuous.
