Our room, despite it being a deluxe one, was inadequate in a number of ways. It was a large room with a small window at one end letting in very limited natural light. Moreover, it was impossible to open the window more than a few centimetres so the room was very stuffy and claustrophobic. The bathroom was very badly designed. It had an open shower so everything got wet including the toilet, the minute you stepped under the shower. There was no brush to push the water back into the shower so we had to use towels to soak it up. There was no soap dish to put shampoo or soap so everything was on the floor, which was difficult for my 80 year old mother. And there were no handles to hold in the shower or bath so it was dangerous. The WC and sink were so low it was uncomfortable to use them, again, for an elderly lady, it was complicated. There were no shelves so bottles and tubes ended up around the bath, which made no sense. The ventilation didn't work in the bathroom so it got very stuffy and given that there was no window and the one in the bedroom was woefully inadequate, it was unpleasant. It needn't have been so uncomfortable but the way the room and bathroom are designed does not lend itself to the room qualifying as luxury.
