The property was ideal for our overnight stay before catching the early ferry. Near the port ( 10min drive). The room was lovely. Breakfast was “ help yourself” but ample. No surprises if you read the website thoroughly.

We stayed in the annex, room had beautiful view over the bay. Room was very clean and well appointed, lots of hot water good bath & shower. Breakfast self service to eat in your room, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, fruit juice and fresh milk (yoghurt, milk and juice all kept in a fridge) We will definitely stay again only down side no restaurant on site but lots available locally. Good parking

We were disappointed to find, on arrival, that the dining facilities (bar, restaurant, residents lounge) were closed. We were not told in advance. The hotel claims the following: "an à la carte restaurant open to residents and non-residents, and a large and popular lounge bar and dining area serving a wide selection of bar meals. There is also a comfortable Residents Lounge." This is not accurate. The lounge and restaurant were closed. Breakfast consisted of a table under the stairs next to the fire escape, with no tables or chairs to sit at (cornflakes and juice). When it stated breakfast included, and shows pictures of a restaurant/bar, we expected better for the price. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, but the food/drink options are not as advertised.

This is not a hotel. No restaurant and room smelt of damp badly. This guy is selling it and therefore is just renting out the rooms. Breakfast is a pain au chocolate cereal in ur room. The place hasn’t been done up since the 70 s. Will not stay here again. No one on reception after 4 pm.

Revisiting old holiday pastures
Parking was ample and immediately to the front & side of the property. A pleasant enough 'Welcome' was received, and was informative. Sadly the Restaurant wasn't available during our stay although the bar was open until 8pm. A 'serve yourself ' continental style breakfast was provided/available at the foot of the stairwell but it was necessary not to leave it to late as the choice became very limited. Room, (No35) was a good size with a nice view and has a pleasing/comfortable feeling. Although clean it was tired and sadly spiders occupied several corners at ceiling level. The chairs provided were 'worn' on the arms and looked dirty even though they weren't particularly. The bathroom is most certainly due a refurb and it's window, once opened couldn't be shut without some ingenuity. The bed was clean, comfortable and size wise more than adequate. Facilities for tea/coffee/biscuits within the room we're also adequately provided for. Overall we wouldn't 'not' stay there again but would hope for an improvement.

Very poor continental breakfast. Very limited selection, no toast, no jam or marmalade, no sugar and no trays to carry anything back to your room (upstairs!). Last up had no pastries etc.. Very disappointing after staying there previously and having excellent cooked breakfasts.

We know the anchorage going back for years. We have had a lot of meals there. Unfortunately it is being sold and the service remaining is poor. Continental breakfaat placed in the hall where people are expected to collect ot an eat in their rooms. Its a shame. Just no atmosphere any more.

We have stayed at the Anchorage for many years and find it convenient for our family and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere and food used to be good. Unfortunately, this year there was no cooked breakfast, only a small selection of fruit juice, cereal and prepackaged pastries which we had to either eat standing up or take back to our room. Although butter and marmite were available, there was no marmalade or jam. The restaurant and bar were not always open, which made the ambience quite off-putting.

Good ferry spot
Perfectly good little hotel, very close to the ferry. You need to call to check in if you're arriving out of hours. Nice rooms, convenient if basic continental breakfast setup. I will stay here every time I go to Holyhead for an early ferry!
