This charming cottage is situated in the heart of Kintbury. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby and the Kennet & Avon canal is within easy reach for fishing and cycling. The village has 2 nice pubs, a very good corner store which includes a post-office and a delicatessen just a few minute's walk away. The property is also only a short distance from the station for trains to Newbury/Hungerford (5 minutes), Reading (35 minutes) or London (50 minutes).
The space
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with blinds (privacy assured even when semi-closed) and a separate dining area, with an extendable table (seats 6). There is also a washing machine and access to a tumble-dryer. The living room is equipped with a TV and a deluxe easy-folding Furl double-sofa bed for a delightful night's sleep. Instructions for opening the sofa-bed is in our instruction manual on the kitchen table. Please let us know if you are arriving late, and we will set up the bed for you on request.
The main source of heating is a lovely open fire. The fire will be made up seasonally for guest use and a basket of kindling and kiln dried logs (plus subsequent top ups) are provided free of charge. There is also an alternative source of heating in the electric log effect stove which nestles under the TV. Just pull forward and plug in: the temperature is controlled with switches at the side.
There are two rooms upstairs: one is equipped with a comfortable double bed, wireless charging bedside lamps and a projector for guest use where you can rather luxuriously watch a film from bed, with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ accounts, and enjoy your own private cinematic experience, The other room is primarily set up as a fully-equipped office space with a computer, printer & fast unlimited internet access (58 MBP), perfect for working from home. This room also includes a dressing area with cupboards and hanging space. Please note that the stairs are narrow and therefore our property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
