Peace & rejuvenation await at the airy & spacious Wildland Retreat Space. The land offers direct access to Strawberry Creek, nearby hiking trails, & views of Lily Rock just down the street. Inside, find soothing neutral tones + a commitment to eco-friendly, vegan & upcycled materials. The ample living area provides a perfect setting for yoga, tai chi, & meditative tea. The bedroom, a haven for deep relaxation featuring a hammock chair & forest views. Tesla level 2 charger + Private Laundry Room free for guests on site.

The Space:
Covid Cleaning Protocol: We are taking extreme measures to thoroughly sanitize between guests (including alcohol surface sanitizing, plus open window period to cleanse the air). In addition, a highly effective 72% alcohol sanitizing spray will be available for your use throughout your stay.

The Wildland Retreat Space is the lower level of a 2 story Octagonal "tree house" nestled in the Pines, right on Strawberry Creek. Designed with your every comfort in mind, the Retreat Space includes:

- Tesla wall connector level 2 charger is available FREE for guests on site. With fire safety as a top priority, local electric utilities incentivize electric use after 9pm. Please schedule your charging to begin after 9pm and run through the night.

Enjoy the peaceful retreat feel of this divine 1BR with forest views, plus an exceptionally spacious living room and full bathroom stocked with eco spa-worthy universal wash & locally made organic face oils courtesy of Wildland Organics.

We have a deep commitment to eco-friendly, non-toxic, vegan, & upcycled materials - which you will find throughout the space. We use only non-toxic, natural cleaning supplies - 100% cotton sheets, and all vegan materials throughout the home - including a cozy down-alternative duvet.

You will find the kitchenette stocked with local coffee, raw sugar, sea salt and organic pepper for your enjoyment. Please note this space features a "kitchenette", not a full kitchen - which includes a 2 burner hot plate, 1 pan, 1 pot, a microwave, mini-fridge, and an array of plates/mugs/utensils.

Although we do not have a traditional dining table, please see photos of our tea table and coffee table/game table.

Because this guest suite functions as a retreat space, there is no television available. There is, however, high-speed internet if you would like to bring a computer or tablet to stream. As mentioned, this space was designed to be a place for quiet contemplation - please no parties, no smoking, NO PETS, NO CHILDREN UNDER 12, and no additional guests without expressed permission.

The Retreat Space sits on the same property as the Wildland Be Well Yurt several yards away. Both the Yurt and the Retreat Space have exclusive access to their own designated outdoor areas, along with access to some common/shared spaces throughout the property. You are welcome to book both spaces for groups of up to 6, please message us for details.

For a truly relaxing experience, we especially recommend spending some time in the sitting area by the creek. Directions to hiking trails plus recommended sightseeing, shopping and restaurants can be found on our @wildlandorganics IG story highlights titled "Visit Idyllwild".

As hosts, we live upstairs with our cat and small dog, so while we do our best to preserve a quiet & contemplative atmosphere for our guests - you may hear sounds of everyday life from our living quarters. The dog is usually quiet as a mouse (unless the UPS man shows up, haha!). We also provide a sound machine for the bedroom, and multiple fans to muffle any noise you might hear.

Regarding our "NO PETS" policy for guests: The reason for this policy is that our sister lives in this space part-time and is severely allergic to animals, "hypoallergenic" or not. We have completely sealed off the lower level of our home to be a sanctuary for her, and for other guests that share her health condition. We respectfully request you DO NOT ask to bring your pets, regardless of their certifications. Please understand this is a personal home, as well as a sanctuary for a loved one - and we wholeheartedly request that you respect our rules.

As an offering of gratitude for visiting without pets, we are happy to provide each guest a taste of the Wildland experience. Our company, Wildland Organics, specializes in mindful, minimalist offerings for hair, body, and home that you will get to experience throughout your stay. Luxurious and organic oils, universal wash & organic body & space sanitizers made right here in Idyllwild will be at your disposal to enjoy. You will also receive a welcome gift bag to take home with you, featuring special surprise gifts.

Guest Access:
The entire lower level of the Wildland Octagon Treehouse is yours to enjoy - including a private entrance and washer/dryer.

There are both exclusive/private outdoor areas and communal outdoor areas. Designated spaces will be shown to you upon arrival.

The Neighborhood:
Located on Strawberry Creek, this land offers the soothing sounds only a seasonal creek can provide. Often running September - May, please message to confirm - as the creek changes from season to season. Colorful foliage and apple trees ripe for the picking can be enjoyed in the fall. Walking distance to town (20 minutes), and a short 10 minute walk to popular brunch & dinner spot Mile High Cafe. 2 minute drive to Idyllwild Arts Academy.

Getting Around:
You will need a car to properly enjoy Idyllwild, though you won't need it all the time. Hiking trails, restaurants, and the town square are all accessible within a 20 minute walking distance. Everything in Idyllwild is accessible within 5-10 minutes by car. 2 parking spots available for the guest space - please park where indicated to keep space clear for UPS deliveries, thank you!

Other Things to Note:
Please be sure to note this suite features a "Kitchenette" not a full kitchen (details above). Also, we (the hosts) live upstairs full time with a cat and dog. The dog may bark at a passing coyote or the UPS man - but otherwise, you won't hear from her. The pets are never allowed downstairs - it is strictly a PET FREE ZONE for the benefit of our sister who suffers from severe allergies and inhabits the space part-time.

NO TRESPASSING to the neighbors yard. The solar lights are a line of demarcation - DO NOT PASS THESE LIGHTS. There are security cameras, and a $50 fine will be imposed and taken from your deposit if the neighbors report trespassing and show us the proof.

Firm check out time of 11am - late checkout requests will incur a $40 fee. This helps us prepare for our next guest - thank you in advance for understanding.

ALL GUESTS must be mentioned in your request to book, and approved before your stay. No additional un-approved guests allowed. NO PETS, including certified animals, allowed due to family member with allergies who occupies the space part time.

There is an additional guest space on property. You may book this space as well if you have a party of 6. Look up “Creekside BE WELL Yurt” for listing details. NO PETS allowed there as well.

420 friendly OUTSIDE only - but for real though. OUTSIDE ONLY and away from the yurt - we can smell it when folks try to smoke indoors, additional cleaning fees will be charged. FIRE SAFTEY must be adhered to - please be sure to safely contain anything that may still be hot or burning. Our town has been plagued by fires in the last few years - please do not be the cause.

Finally - for the benefit of our neighbors and future guests, please remember NO SMOKING, NO PETS, no parties, and the retreat space is not suitable for children - thank you!
