The best of both worlds - rural but within easy reach of Munich!

This beautiful, newly renovated 3-room apartment can be reached quickly by car from Munich airport and by train via Munich Central Station. The village train station is just a few minutes walk away, with direct trains to Munich and Ingolstadt (journey time = under 30 mins). Driving to the property? Park your car in the on-site garage.

Enter the apartment through the garden, bathroom to the left and straight ahead into the fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom is to the rear with a large double bed and French windows. Upstairs is a newly renovated loft space with lounge area (which can be converted into another sleeping area, either a double bed or one single bed), as well as an open bedroom with a queen bed.

We will supply the bed linen and towels so no need to worry about those! We also have a travel cot available should your little one need it.

Walk straight from the bedroom out onto your own terrace and breakfast in the sunshine or enjoy a balmy evening with a glass of wine. Internet TV plus Amazon Prime. Washer/dryer facilities available on request for an additional fee. We have bikes available should you wish to explore the beautiful Ilm Valley.

We live in the main house and are happy to help you as much or as little as you need. We are native English speakers who are fluent in German; as highly qualified English trainers we can also offer English tuition, right here in our rural retreat!

An ideal location for runners and/or cyclists in training and in search of clean country air. We have used the myriad of local off-road routes, both benign and challenging, to prepare for marathons, half marathons and triathlons. So, come and get fit or fitter!! If you just fancy a walk we will gladly point you in the right direction for a walk suited to you.

ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING inside the apartment. No extra guests and no parties. Please note that we live in the adjoining house and would hope that guests treat the apartment in a way they would want their own home to be treated.

Oktoberfest in Munich
Emma and Billy were wonderful hosts and the property is perfect. The train into town was very easy to navigate. I would recommend to anyone visiting Munich.

Little gem of a property. Our hosts were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. We even had a bike tour with them of the local area! Transport into Munich was very easy and peaceful location to return to. We will be back as it was such a lovely property and hosts.

The location was just right for those who don’t want to stay in the city. The drive between Munich and Emma‘s house was very scenic and became one of my favorite parts of the day. Emma and Billy were fantastic hosts, and my entire family wished we could have stayed longer.

Great host located in a quiet picturesque village.
We had four adults stay with Emma. The upstairs room with the futon bed was very comfortable but could be confronting if you are taller than 170cm. Her house is very conveniently located a short distance from the train station which gave us hourly access to Munich. Emma was very helpful and always responded the same day. Happy to recommend and would certainly stay with Emma again.

Wonderful house in a quiet location close to Munich
We were looking for a place close to Munich for going to Oktoberfest and this house fit the bill perfectly. Emma and Billy were wonderful hosts and with both being formerly from the UK, this place is good for English speaking travelers. We also had Eurail passes and thus no car, so this house is in a great location and only a 5 min walk from the train platform. By train from Paindorf to Munich Hbf it is only 30 min and so this place makes a great base to explore lower Bavaria from. The only drawback I can mention is that there are no grocery stores or restaurants within walking distance of the house. Wonderful place, will stay again.

A cozy and beautiful home
Emma and Billy are great people; they were very attentive and helpful. We struggled with the hot weather making it hard to sleep upstairs, but that's something that can be easily fixed with a fan. The beds were very comfortable and the shower great! The area is very beautiful and we very much enjoyed everything!! Go Liverpool! ;)

Personable hosts with a lovely garden! Well stocked apartment. Easy access to Munich by car or train, 30 min ride. Emma went above and beyond doing laundry for us TWICE! One worry is the slippery wood stairs from the loft, wear socks or slippers with some tread. Overall highly recommended place to stay in beautiful Bavaria!

Perfect for Oktoberfest!
A group of four of us stayed here while studying abroad and visiting Munich for Oktoberfest. The apartment was super cozy and cute and within easy access of Munich by train for city time and great for relaxing in the country afterwards. Emma was a great host, offering to meet us at the train station and show us the home. Awesome place!

Lovely Apartment in a Quiet Neighborhood
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The apartment is very clean and had everything we needed. Our hosts were very gracious and helpful. Emma went out of her way to help us purchase tickets at the train station, which is a short walk from the apartment, so we could get back and forth to Munich for Oktoberfest. She helped with laundry and gave suggestions for dining and shopping. There are walking trails quite close to the apartment, which we also really enjoyed. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay here again. We wish we had more time but we had to journey on to Wittenberg. Thanks for your great hospitality!!

It was a cozy house that accommodated all our needs and it was convenient to catch the train to Munich. The area was quiet and relaxing. I would recommend to anyone I know who would want to stay in the Munich area. The host was kind enough to meet us at the train and show us around. 5 stars!

A highlight of our multi country trip...
WOW!! We walked inside and that was our reaction. It's fabulous, cool, clean and completely efficient with every convenience. And the shower....Awesome. We almost cancelled our reservation. The pictures didn't do it justice. And we were concerned about the distance from Munich. We are SO GLAD we stayed here! The owners are helpful, gracious and professional. We rented a car in Munich and drove to the property. The drive, (about 25 minutes from the BMW museum), the town, and especially this property... is so beautiful! There's a fully equipped kitchen with great markets nearby. It is a bright sunny place with a cute little table and chairs, a sofa/sitting area, a view of a fantastic garden out back.There is also a loft, a big comfy bedroom with TV, a spacious bathroom, everything meticulously clean, modern and so comfortable we didn't want to leave... The shower: Oh my gosh- The shower.....the powerful water pressure is incredible and the water gets nice and hot. After days of traveling miles with a backpack on...this was glorious. We used the bikes and had a gorgeous ride through the towns on bike paths. It's hilly with huge open fields of flowers. The paths go through picturesque communities, with incredible gardens, farms, churches, bridges and art. We loved it so much we regretted not booking it longer. Definitely a great place to stay if you're visiting the Munich area.

Excellent hosts, great location
My daughter wanted to see original archaeopteryx fossils in their place of origin, and this apartment was an excellent home base. Emma and her husband were great hosts (it was a relief to be able to ease into our trip to Germany with English-speaking hosts), even walking us to the close-by train station to help us buy our tickets for a day trip into Munich. Emma also helped me pay a small parking ticket with minimal fuss. The apartment is small, clean, and quite adequate. No kitchen sink, but we put our dirty dishes into a doorway -- and they magically appeared, clean, just a bit later! Even in the little village, we were able to take scenic walks down farm roads. If you're looking for a place close to Munich that doesn't bust the bank, you've found it! (Emma, if you and your husband make it back to Tampa Bay, give me a shout. We'd love to see you again!)

Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern war sehr freundlich. Wir haben alles in der Wohnung so vorgefunden, wie beschrieben. Die Lage der Wohnung ist für Wanderungen, Radtouren oder für einen Besuch in München ideal. Gerne wieder!

Schnucklige Unterkunft
Wie haben diese Unterkunft gebucht, um ein paar Tage in München zu verbringen. Mit dem Zug am örtlichen Bahnhof gar kein Problem. Vor allem die Betten und die frisch duftende Bettwäsche waren sehr behaglich. Die Eheleute/ Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich. Aufgrund des kühlen Wetters konnten wir leider die Terasse nicht nutzen ( toller Garten drum rum ). Gerne einmal wieder ☺️
