The staff were lovely. The room was in desperate need of upgrading- no aircon so insanely hot, no extractor fans in bathroom or toilet. Would be better to have more supply of toilet paper and the option to use a cake of soap or liquid.

The standard room was dated and not as comfortable as the premium room I’ve stayed in before. But the hotel itself is great. Really nice staff, location and great facilities. Convenient car parking even if the parks are narrow. I still recommend the hotel.

Solid hotel in a good location in central Invercargill. Nice room and staff was friendly/helpful. Parking is offsite, but only a block away.

The hotel looks great from outside(as pictures show), but actually inside the building was old and tired. Our room had very old carpet and everything was old. The walls were thin and we heard people talking from the next room. It seemed that the management had decided to invest in making them look good rather than giving comfort to their guests. We were disappointed. Their sports bar's food was great.

The bed was super comfy and big, staff were lovely and the whole hotel was really clean. I would've rated it higher had there been air conditioning in our room, a better breakfast menu (2 items on menu) that wasn't so expensive and if the shower had better water pressure. But overall it was a pleasant stay

Lovely four nights at the Kelvin, room perfectly adequate for me and good to find accommodation which is not hugely expensive. The only complaint I would note is that people seem to think it ok to slam doors! Otherwise all good and I would stay there again.
