Akan is an awesome place, and Hanayuuka hotel is a perfect place to stay in it. The lake is literally less than a minute walk from the terrace doors, and so is the cruise ship and motor boat places. The entrance to Kamuy Lumina (a fantastic night show about an ainu legend in the forest) is also very close. There are many dining places and convenience stores nearby, the tourist office is 5 minutes of walk, and the Ainu Village is around 10 minutes of walk. Our rooms very surprisingly big, of course very clean. The place has a playing room for children, laundry room, massage chairs, bike rentals, studio quality photo room, and even a tiny photo museum. I honestly loved our stay here, and want to come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful. The morning breakfast a must. The evening dining at Bar De Pan in the hotel was very accommodating and delicious. My wife loved the hot spa and message chairs. The town is magical. The Ainu village and shows were fascinating and the people very kind. The Kamuy Lumina (Enchanted Night Walk at Lake Akan) is a must. We took the shuttle from Sapporo and back to Chitose. This was also effortless and a great way to see the countryside. Thank you

Staff very helpful. Very pleased with the service. No laundry service and also no coin vending washing machines. Got to take shuttle bus to Tsuruga Wings (Sister Hotel) to use coin laundry machine (also do not have laundry service at Tsuruga Wings)

Lake view hotel with excellent services and food
This is an excellent hotel with great services and beautiful Akan Lake view. Our hotel price included buffet breakfast and dinner. Both had a lot of good food. After we ate, we walked along the lake. It was an easy and peaceful walk. The view was so beautiful. We enjoyed the walk very much. The hotel had hot spring. The hotel also provided free shuttle for the guests to go to another hotel for a much larger hot spring facility without any charge. The pier is a minute walk from the hotel. You can take the boat around the lake. It is worth for the time and money. You will see the more beautiful side of the lake. The town is pretty small. This hotel is in the quiet side of the town. Everything is not too far away. There is a bakery next to the hotel. We grabbed some pastries and coffee on the way out. They were very good.

We booked a Japanese western style room with lake view. We lake view especially in sunset time is amazingly beautiful. We also got to experience the onsen from two different hotels with free shuttle bus going there. Got more than 20 different types of onsen to try. Really enjoyed the onsen part. But the buffet was not very special. Overall it's a great stay.

Spend moderately but have access to good onsens
Rather small room for 4 people but the awesome buffet dinner and breakfast more than make it up for it. Moreover, they provide free access + free shutter service to their sister hotels, which had much grander onsen experience. The onsen tax is 250 yen compared to normal hotel 150 yen per person but you have access to 3 onsens so no complains/

Great location. Right next to the sightseeing cruise center. The overall hotel is a little tired looking but the room is generally clean and most of the amenities are provided. Onsen could do with a little more sprucing and small thoughtful additions like providing small plastic bags for putting in our wet towels would be nice. Food selection at the buffet (i had both dinner and breakfast) was good.
