This is a beautiful historic hotel. Mustafa Ataturk stayed at this hotel as did many world known celebrities. The hotel had preserved the rooms that Ataturk used and now show them as a museum. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They always answer with a smile. Canā€™t say enough good things about this hotel.

A Beautiful and old fashioned Istanbul hotel with a lot of history. Unfortunately, the facilities have not kept up. We had problems with our heating in the room. There was also a big party downstairs over the weekend which was extremely loud and did not allow us to sleep. The staff were extremely friendly though and excellent service.

A Better Bar than a Hotel
The Orient bar and staff were excellent, but you do not need to stay there to go to the bar. When we arrived, we pulled up in a taxi at the entrance. Nobody offered help with luggage, and we had to fight past people to even get in the door! The reception staff seemed very unhappy/bored - not a warm welcome. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nice large showers. The room said Golden Horn view, but mainly was buildings and a main road with a slither of water. The young guy at the sap reception was lovely and welcoming, but the staff inside was rude. One girl sprayed me with a cleaning spray while I sat down after the sauna. If you want people to leave, ask! It was at least an hour before closing, though. We are glad we cancelled our Hammam service. Tom Tom Suites, Soho House and Divan are all much better options. The place's history attracts many people; while sitting in the bar, they even brought a tour group through! It's not an ideal stay to relax. I suggest just booking in for the afternoon tea or going to the bar and staying somewhere else. Though it is a very affordable option.

Beautiful, historic hotel makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. Huge room with classic decor. Comfortable beds with fluffy pillows and comforters. Complimentary bottled water in room and they deliver a tray of assorted pastries later on. Friendly and helpful staff. Extensive and tasty breakfast and afternoon tea buffets. Beautiful tea room. Outdoor restaurant for lunch and dinner with decent food. Steps away from lots of shops and restaurants. No convenient public transportation, so must take a 15 min taxi or Uber to main tourist attractions in Sultanahmet. Easy to get a taxi/Uber at the hotel, but impossible to get an Uber back and taxis charge an inflated flat rate.

Overall customer service is terrible. It is not a welcoming hotel. Staff is just there. Upon arrival we were given our keys, nothing explained about property or amenities as usual during a check-in. We had to figure everything on our own. Forget about ā€œvipā€ access, they completely lack at customer service. The breakfast has an amazing selection but again lacks service. Would never stay at this hotel again nor recommend. It was truly not the experience we were looking forward to. Unfortunate end to our trip.
