Welcome to our small but well-appointed chalet in the Adirondacks. We are located close to Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid, Ausable Chasm, fishing on the Ausable River and 90 miles from Montreal. The neighborhood is called Ausable Acres where each home is separated from its neighbors by trees thereby offering considerable privacy. The Acres has a lake, miles of trails for hiking or cross-country skiing and a picnic pavilion area. For fisherpersons, there is access to the Ausable river less than two miles away. Within three miles is a Top’s Supermarket, Stewart’s Gas and Convenience store, movie theatre, pizzeria (eat in or take out often featuring live music) and liquor store.
The interior of the cabin is constructed with tongue and groove knotty pine throughout. There is one bedroom and a sleeping loft both of which have new queen size log beds. The bathroom is newly remodeled featuring a large walk-in shower. The common sitting area, kitchen, dining area with seating for four are part of a open floor plan. We will provide wood for a cozy fire in the fireplace. The home has a three-zone electric heating system so fires are optional. There are two USB charging stations and high-speed internet. The kitchen has an electric cooktop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, dishes with service for four and lots of cookware that allow guests to prepared a home cooked meal or breakfast.
The cabin is built into a mountainside and visitors will be required to climb 12 steps before arriving on the deck and the entrance to the chalet. This home would not be suitable for those who find stair climbing a challenge or young children. Also, please note that neighborhood has a 10pm quiet rule.
If this property is booked or if you are two people and wish to have a bit more room, please consider our other cabin, Old Crow Cabin located just one mile away from Coleman Cabin.
