The Lester Parker property, the neoclassical revival home built in 1905, is on the National Register of Historic Places and sits on the corner of historic Capitol Avenue and Lafayette Street. Diagonally across the intersection is the old Missouri State Penitentiary and directly across Lafayette Street is the Missouri State Penitentiary Museum and Penitentiary Tour Ticket Office.

The beautiful, newly remodeled 100-year-old Carriage House at Parker's Place is loaded with the finest amenities. The Carriage House offers two bedrooms upstairs in the Chauffeur's quarters. Enjoy the beautifully remodeled bathroom with immaculate walk-in shower. The full kitchen on the main floor holds every amenity including black granite countertop island with seating for four, original 1923 farm sink from the Parker's home, drawer refrigerator, under-the-counter ice machine that provides individual, top hat-style and hard gourmet ice, four cook-top range, dishwasher and stacked washer/dryer. Relax in the comfortable living room featuring plush pillows, chairs and sleeper/sofa along with wall-mounted tv. Memorable Weekend Get Away
This property is such a fun place to stay for the weekend. It was exactly as seen in the online photos and clean with easy check in process. The location is nearby the places we planned to visit including the Capitol building. If you have children don’t miss the chance to visit nearby Community Park; an awesome playground unlike any we had visited in other places. Two suggestions for making things a bit easier in the house: hooks (coats near the front door, PJs or towels in bedrooms) and Tupperware or glass jars with lids for leftovers in the kitchen. I hope we can return again to this awesome property.

Visiting Mizzou on parents weekend
Stayed at the carriage house on a Mizzou visit weekend when Columbia hotels and properties were completely booked. Staying in Jefferson City was still convenient and a fairly quick drive to campus. Property is beautiful and well maintained - love the modern yet historical feel. Neighborhood was very quiet. Very close to the capitol, however the weekend we were there, it felt almost deserted. Only comments about property: lights in upstairs bedrooms were odd… when one was turned off the other room turned on which gave us a good laugh when going to bed one night. Would have loved waste paper baskets in bedrooms. Property was spotless except for a few items left in fridge drawers when we arrived. Property contact was responsive and helpful through the app for my few questions. Great stay overall, I would stay again.

Property was very clean and we had a great stay! Owner was very responsive. Only suggestion would be to put a house number on building as the property was a bit hard to find at first. And maybe add some outdoor furniture on patio would be nice. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Great house!
We stayed at The Carriage House on our recent trip to Jefferson City. We toured the Capitol, the Missouri Penitentiary Museum, and did a late night ghost tour at the Missouri Penitentiary. The Carriage House was the perfect location. The house was very clean with great amenities. The only con was the heavy scent of laundry detergent. My husband is very sensitive to it. They might consider switching to a scentless detergent but other than that it was perfect. I would stay here again.
