There’s lots to love about the Seahaven and the remnants of its heyday as Seagulls remains, not least the gorgeous pool area and big restaurant deck. The included breakfast is a treat and has good variety of hot and cold options. The team are clearly working hard to renovate and the rooms inside are pretty nice although the bathrooms need a deep clean. I was surprised that there was no daily room makeup although that’s not a deal breaker. Watch this space, I think over the coming months it will see a lot of improvements and freshening up. For now it’s a lovely quiet option away from the bustle of the strand whilst still being on the beach with access to cafes.

Honest review: We booked here because the website showed very beautiful lush grounds and we wanted to take photos for my daughters formal. Upon arrival we noticed, fountains, weren't working, the grounds didn't display like the website. Not well kept. Room was clean and tidy. Beds were far too soft. It seems like they are going through a change of hands, hopefully it will get better.

The pool is very accommodating to smaller children. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic with numerous options. The staff were very friendly . It was a shame that the door cannot be locked from the sinde to prevent small children opening the door and walking into the carpark

Little family get away from Mackay was awesome. Room was much nicer than expected, although the bathroom could use an extraction fan, it was very nice. Wife and I enjoyed the soft bed, kids loved the bunks! Pool area was fun and easily accessible from our room. Food was ordered in to our room, a little basic, but yummy. Breakfast in the restaurant was a bit average, but there was a good amount on offer that was complimentary. Overall, we had a great time, we will be back and have told people to make it a spot they stop when in Townsville.

The bathroom needs maintenance and updating. Water was pooling outside of shower with door closed. There was a fold up fixed chair in showers that was rusty and old. The shower head was not working and did not spray water, water just ran out like a kitchen tap. Air conditioning unit was very dirty and dusty. The complex/ pool/ restaurant areas were rundown and dirty. Half painted areas, pool dirty, we think poo was in the pool. It may have been a seed from a palm tree but it was more poo like. The bricks around the pool were broken in many places. Tables dirty with cups all over them and food. Same mess was there both days we were there. It was such a shame as the grounds could look fantastic with great facility’s. The pool is huge and would look great with maintenance and a clean, and maintenance to the gardens around the pool. Just looked like no one cared about the place. Was such a shame.

The property is beautiful and it is close to the ocean. The drawback is that you need some transportation to get to the main part of Townsville. We walked a lot and that was fine, but people should be aware that it is quite a distance from the main restaurants, shopping and attractions.

We enjoyed mostly everything about our stay with only a few things to note. Our meal and room service was prompt and delivered with courtesy and a smile. The meal itself was so worth staying in and not ordering Uber eats. I had the smoked ribs and they were mouth watering and delicious. There was however no drinks menu to choose from. We had no bath when it was advertised as having one in our family room. This was the main reason we booked so our teenage athlete could utilize the epsom salts we bought to go in our advertised bath. The damper of our one night stay was, not being advised of a large scale triathalon happening out front of the resort premises the next morning. We found witches hats blocking our exit on the driveway at 9am and were told by the event managers that the triathalon was to continue till 11pm that night. When we approached admin staff and handed our key in, he was very dismissive and told us there had been signs out on the roads all week. I replied that there were in fact NO signs on the premises advising that we would not be able to leave after a certain time and that perhaps it would be a good idea in future if there were notes placed in our rooms when checking in.

Check in and out were easy and the room had a great layout for our family. Although quite dated, the children enjoyed the tennis court and play area. Motel was close to the beach, restaurants etc so a great location. There was a sign in the room that stated to avoid cleaning charges, dishes need to be washed and put away. Unfortunately, there were no utensils for dishwashing- no dishwashing liquid, no tea towel etc Thus, we found a lot of unclean cutlery and glassware in the cupboards.

The rooms were getting renovated last time we stayed here. This time we got to stay in a newly renovated room and it was fantastic. besides the bed being extremely soft everything was very good.
