You'll be staying in the newly remodeled, best lil' Carriage House in JC! She's cozy, she's quaint, she's quirky (oh, hey, dip!) and she's located near DT, ETSU, hospitals, the VA, Highway 26 (aka the fastest route to a whole bunch of other awesome places to daytrip!)… Essentially, this is where you and your family want to be to enjoy the best that JC has to offer. Whether you're coming for a wedding, funeral, fun in the mountains, work, or just exploring a new place, the Carriage House will welcome you home!

Welcome to the historic Crooked Carriage House! This cozy guest house is nestled in the popular Tree Streets neighborhood of Johnson City. Her quirks include a little dip in the kitchen floor and some other "crooked" characteristics that only add to her charm. Please do not book if you are concerned about settling... and please read on if you love special places because she surely is that.

Okay, now that we've got that out of the way!

You'll be in a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood a few minutes' walk or drive to Downtown Johnson City where you can enjoy the summer festivals, music in the park, dinner at a great restaurant, or a cold beverage at one of the breweries. We think this is the best neighborhood in JC and we think you will, too.

Walk your pup around the neighborhood and spot the trees located in the state-certified arboretum. Take your littles to Founders Park and let them run off some of that energy in the large, open field.

We're centrally located to some stellar mountain hikes, the Nolichucky River, a few lakes where you can rent boats or enjoy the beach. We're about an hour's drive through some gorgeous mountains and breathtaking views to Asheville. It's really the best of both worlds - stay in JC, avoid the crowds and pricing of AVL, but be close enough to take a daytrip if there's something in particular you want to explore.

Please note: The Carriage House shares a driveway with the main home (another listing of ours if you need a larger place) so you'll need to park on the left side only. The Carriage House guests do not get access to the main home backyard.

Perfectly Unperfect house!
This carriage house was to darn cute! Exactly what the listing says. The charm of the place adds to its character! The host was very attentive to our needs. The house is very well stocked, which was a pleasant surprise. If you are bringing children, they have a high chair, pack and play, baby bathtub, plastic dinnerware for the kids. When my husband and I come back to visit our son we’ll be checking to see if this carriage house is available, and we might even bring our granddaughter next time!!

Charming stay in the Tree Streets
We came to explore the NE TN tri cities area and decided to use Johnson City as our home base. This spot was perfect for us! After each day of adventuring (hiking, exploring lakes, renting e-bikes, etc., we were able to walk into the down town area for dinner, then post dinner strolls through the historic neighborhood. We enjoyed seeing everyone’s gardens and front porches. The carriage house was comfortable, spotless, quiet and well-appointed. We had everything we needed.

AT Hiking for a week
We spent the week hiking along the Appalachian Trail. The house was located close to any number of hiking trails and plenty of great restaurants at the end of the day. Johnson City was a delight. We would strongly recommend the Crooked Carriage House.

Amazing location and place
This place was exactly what we were looking for. It was a beautiful place, plenty of room and has everything you need for an extended stay. The best part had to be the location though. It is tucked away into a little neighborhood so it was quiet and quaint. However, it was also walkable to plenty of places that we wanted to see. It had everything we wanted and I would stay there again in the future if I ever make it back there.

Charming place!
This place had so much charm and is located in a great area. We only stayed two nights so weren’t able to explore much, but would love to come back. The beds were very comfortable, host was very responsive, it was super clean and just overall a lovely stay. The carriage house is an older property, but this added to the charm. It was just a perfect place for us! Thank you for the nice touches too!

My husband and I wanted to stay in the "Tree Streets" of Johnson City when visiting our daughter and husband. The Carriage House was in a perfect location. However, all the amenities that were provided exceeded our hopes and expectations. The cozy home was perfect for us, and Angela and Pavel thought of everything. It was very convenient to have a washer and dryer available, and detergent was included. Snacks, coffee, water bottles were all waiting for us. The furniture was comfortable and the beds and bedding so very clean and new. The towels also were very clean, fluffy and new. We noticed a high chair, baby bath and portable crib tucked away so this place is family friendly. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks Angela and Pavel for providing this wonderful 'home away from home'.

Thank you for providing an excellent place for our stay in Johnson City! We absolutely loved the place and you have clearly thought of every possible amenity and detail for your guests. We really appreciated all the towels, quality, and comfortable bedding. And the cleanliness was spot on, something we really appreciate. We will definitely spread the word about this little place and plan to return again in the near future. It was a perfect location for walking to the various parks, restaurants, brewstilleries :), and the college where our conference took place. Most days we enjoyed the walk down the tree-lined street instead of making the drive in our car. This is the perfect place for a small family, a girl's getaway, or a romantic getaway. Great little bungalow in JC
We enjoyed our stay and would do it again for a visit into Johnson City.It was clean, well decorated, and comfortable for a family of 4. Appropriately priced relative to size and being a shared property ( they rent both the main house and this cottage we stayed in over the unattached garage.). Hosts were great and very responsive.

The house was cute and clean. We were gone almost all weekend but im the type of person who brings more than necessary just in case we happen to need it. I didnt need anything extra here. The house had everything you may need for a short stay and more. The kitchen was fully stocked with the best appliances. Bathroom had lots of extra towels and extra appliances you may need. The house is in downtown Johnson city which was good because you have lots of restaurants to choose from nearby. Overall, a great stay and would love to stay again.

We really enjoy our stay. The place was clean and everything worked. The bathroom is a bit small for a big guy like me but may be perfect for someone smaller. The place had a unique charm to it. The property was great and the host made sure everything was there that we could need. It was a perfect little place to stay.
